Catlin and Jamaica schools May Form Co-op

Full story: IllinoisHomepage.net

I'd rather stay at the small school and get to know everyone. Catlin and Jamaica schools may combine their junior high & high school classes after state money fails to come through. via IllinoisHomepage.net

I just happened along this, what seems to be the problem with them combining. I graduated Oakwood in 1985 and there was alot of talk after that about doing this with Oakwood involved. I live in Tennessee now and have for about 10 years. I think as far as getting noticed by colleges it seems like a no brainer to combine all these schools. I wish they would have done it back then. I know after I graduated diamond grade school, all the schools combined to make a middle school. From what I have heard that has helped, so why not combine the high schools.

It,s not the combineing of the schools that most tax payers have a problem with, but the bussing, and the need of a new facility will drive taxes out the roof! And the state help out? Forget it! Just ask an Oakwood home owner how the new school building has afected their taxes.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Leo

Even though you usually pride yourself on being the strong silent type, love has a way of unlocking your tongue. The words coming out of your mouth may be familiar, but your sense of timing makes all the difference right now. Keep in mind that you never know how a risky gesture will work out, although you can always hope for the best. When in doubt, take the more cautious path.
