They are at 2nd Street Station, Library, Lt. General,Just Teasin, Hill's Barber Shop, Fox's,Tropical Sno. Let's pull together as a community and get them signed.

This is a petion against Logan PSD
Discrepancies on your water bill,plus the quality of the water and out of service fire hydrants.

Rene,I am glad someone is finally standing up to this water co. I hope everyone will support you. This greedy co. has took on more than they can take care of and still wanting more. If we don't do something to stop these high bills and poor services, it will only get worse. I am behind you 100%. How about it Mullens and surrounding area? Lets support Rene with these petitions and fight this injustice. Rene don't forget to call newspaper as well as t.v. stations. Get all the publicity you can.

I have already contacted Woay and to no avail ,but 190 dollar water bill. I am going to get these petions first and then the publicity will start. Don't just support me, support the community of Mullens and the surrounding areas (Wyoming Co.)that have Logan PSD as their only water source. I guess they are trying to make themselves look good by saying I have a leak which I may have, but I didn't until they turned the water off in Itman and South Mullens and with these old lines you can't just open up a line and expect the pressure from the water not to bust these old lines. The one on woodland(Red Light Hill) has been fixed twice. They also need more cut offs, so when Itman has a leak South Mullens will still have water. That didn't make since to me when Itman had a leak, why South Mullens was with out water. My Dad use to work for the water Co. we never had this much trouble, but then the flood hit and caused more problems then we need. We never went two or three days with out water back in the day, But if the water was shut off in West Mullens, South Mullens never went with out and vise versa.

I signed it too Renee, and I sure hope it helps, I am sick of the high water bills mine was around 100 this time. Its ridulculous. I hope you do get the news station involved too. I have also heard with that many signatures you might be able to get the Better business Bureau involved , I would like to see some one come in and audit them unepectedly to see where all this money is going, also maybe the Attorney Generals office.

I think it is great to fight Logan PSD. The Attorney General's office has nosay over a public utility. I previously went that route and failed. They will simply refer you to the State Public Service Commission. I'll be more than happy to sogn the petition.

It would be a good idea to call Public Service Commission of WV. Also everyone should write personnel letter to PSC. Number and address can be found on interent This co. gets grants to put in these water systems. Which is tax payer money. They in turn charge us large bills for this low quailty water. It really irks me to pay for water coming out of guyandotte river. I thought we were suppose to get our water from the coal mines. This is ashame this company has been allowed to treat small community in this area this way. If we don't take a stand we'll we paying more for gallon of water than gas.

I have had nothing but trouble with this bunch since they have taken over water system.

I am retired and on fixed income as many of the people in this area are, and I do not get my retirement check until the first of the month. I called them to ask them if there was anyway that they could change my due date so that I would not have to be paying a late charge every month, and was told that they couldn't change payment date and it was like that for many people in this area, but if they didn't receive payment by due date that I would have to pay a late payment fee.
I have decided to start sending check to them 10 days early, but dating it for due date. I think if anyone else is having the same trouble that I am having maybe they should do the same thing.

I say give them Hell all the way.

I have already contacted PSC and she is working on it. What you need to do is call and ask Logan PSD for your meter readings for the past year, then go to The City of Mullens and ask for your History Report on your sewage readings for the past year and you can Mail them both too;

OOPS two

It's sad to see the corruption and taking advantage of people for one of life's neccesities. I live in a small community up the road from Mullens, and Logan PSD has put in a water system in the communities in between; Mine, get very good spring water that the community maintains. It's tested every two years because it flows into a stream. It's almost pure.

Last summer, the PSD harrassed all of us on our road trying to get us to sign up for their water. The first offer I declined; after that, once a week the entire summer either a letter was at my door, or a representative knocked on it to tell me what a horrible decision I was making, who knew what was in our water, etc. Pretty much trying to bully us into taking it. We've used this water for generations; it's not coming from the guyandotte; fish ive in it immediately, unlike chlorinated water; and i'll be damned if I'm giving up spring water for that.
Finally they left us alone. None of us in the community signed up for it, and they didn't even bother to bring up a water line to this area. I'm glad I don't have to deal with the issues you all face. To this day I feel the chemicals in our water systems is what causes a lot of different things and refuse to drink it. Unfortunately some don't have that choice. And then this kind of treatment with second rate water from the guyandotte? you guys have a right to your petitions.

On May 30th I paid them 50 dollars thats all my bill was for then I get a shut off Notice near the end of June saying I haven't paid Yet. I said yes I did I went right in at Stevenson and paid them had my money order recite and my yellow Copy they give when you pay up there. When I call she told me to go up there and show them and see what happen to it. Well The guy there rememebered Me my mom and my brother in-law all going up there that day and paying our bills. Theirs had been cash and posted to their bill. Mine on the other hand had not Well I went and called the number to have my money order Tracked It had been cashed On June 7th. I call them back they said they dont have it give them a few days and we'll see if it shows up on the computer. I do that. July Comes I pay my bill Minus the 50 they say I owe because why pay it twice. In the mean time I'm having that Money order track to see who cashed it because it dont tell you over the Phone. And Guess Who it was Logan County PSD had cashed it. I call them back because I get another Shut off notice For that same amount. Finally I'm ticked I go to where I paid my bill I make them send a copy of the money order and My yellow copy into them and they finally posted it to my account but are now saying that I didn't pay for July. So I might have to do all of this again.

Call 59 News, they would be more likely to do a story on it, they do alot of local stuff for communities. You can get on their website and they have a place on there where you type a story idea for them. Their add. is wvnstv.com . Good Luck. I think they would be more likely to cover it than anyone else.

Heartless you and the community done the right thing and as for our drinking water it doesn't come from Guyandotte, it supposedly comes from a mines in Stephenson and is pumped here. Blackeagle,Allen Juction, corrine all have new lines and fire hydrants. Why didn't they do all of the work instead of us having to fight these unproffessional jackases.
I know when I am getting screwed and then what really ticks me off is they come up with these comments and try to make it look like you have no clue how to read a water bill or how their billing cycle is. I have been on this earth for 40 yrs and left home when I was 19 and if I didn't understand then I would go to Duke power, or the PSD in the area I lived in and go ask. My Mother taught us girls how to do all this before I even left home. What I think is happening is the owner of PSD is dipping his hand into the till and these snotty women at Logan are covering for them/him. I have seen it to many times. That is why we are having these discrepancies on our bills. That person has to have a new car or property. I know I worked for a company in N.C. thathad done this. He would dip his hand into the eployee pay roll

Renee, CAsey is right I have contacted 59 news before through their website and they were right there to cover a story and you dont have to give an id or anything. I have contacted the psc in the past about Logan and got nowhere, I tried two different times even tried the gov. office, so I really wish you the best for all of our sakes and I agree their is definitely some dirty work going on in the com. at all of our expenses, I even heard years ago that was why one person quit working for them.

Rene, I put this on a post several weeks ago. In Mullens Advocate..July 2, 2008 on the last page ..1st paragraph. Check on it at the library or advocate office. If you can't get it, I will post it. It is Annual Drinking Water Quality Report for 2007,Eastern Wyoming PSD. It has a lot of information about this water.

The district has thre sources of water, our first source of water is surface water from Slab Fork and Guyandotte Rivers, which provides water to our Mullens treatment Plant, The second source of water is groundwater from our Itmann deep well that provides water to the Itmannn System. The third soource of water is groundwater from mine outflows that provide water to the Nuriva and Wyco Systems. You have five systems. Stephenson, Iroquois, Itmann, Mullens, and Wyco. Does that sound like you could be getting Guyandotte river water? You read it and let me know what you think, because this water company will not tell the truth about anything. One more thing, why would the town officials care how big your water bill is..They get more money for your sewage.

I thought Mullens was on the new water coming from up Stephenson. It passes the inspection.

A $190.00 WATER BILL!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! You should call Oper Winfried and complain immediately. Back in my day, you got pai dfor using water. It was the rule. But don't worry liitle Gen-X Darlin. I hear that up in that communist country they call New York that they have some folks with 12 thousand dollar water bills! Course a late penalty is $1,000.00 or so.
I don't worry much I paid $2,000 on my last water bill and haven't used water in 6 months so now I'm almost 10,000 ahead. Me and my stuffed donkey'll be in hunky Dorey shape if we ever have to start using water again.
Til then, I've been bathing in Columbian Coffee. You know that white powdery substane, that's like sugar only not as sticky. I call it a powder rub! asnyway, be safe all and pay your damn water bills!
