Allsups's brags about how great they are on the website, yet they treat their employees like crap. Managers get away with verbally abusing clerks and then when a few brave clerks come forward to let corporate know of the hostile environment they are forced to work in, retalliations rain down... we are people worthy of the same respect as the managers, its on the clerks backs that the Allsup's name is really carried and its time that we unite! Since corporate won't do anything, post your complaints and grievences here!
Texas Allsup's employees make $7.50/hour Texas Allsup's employees do not get differential pay for graveyard Texas Allsup's stores only put two clerks on graveyard on Fri and Sat night Allsup's #266 Manager Allison was over $12,000 short in inventory, yet Jim and Marvin didn't report it to corporate...hmmmm |

this is what Allsup's does to you if you complain:
ALLSUP’S CONVENIENCE STORES SUED BY EEOC FOR RETALIATION IN DISCRIMINATION CHARGE Employee Fired After Cooperating in EEOC Investigation, Federal Agency Charged DALLAS – Allsup’s Convenience Stores, Inc. violated the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) when it fired an employee as retaliation for cooperating with a discrimination investigation, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed today. Allsup’s, headquartered in Clovis, N.M., has 300 locations throughout New Mexico and Texas and employs approximately 2,500 individuals. According to the EEOC’s lawsuit (Civil Action No. 2:09-CV-941), Orvel Pape, a nine-year Allsup’s employee, was fired from his management position because he cooperated with an EEOC investigation of another employee’s charge of discrimination brought against the company under the ADA. The EEOC said that Pape was terminated shortly after the company was notified that Pape’s statements to an EEOC investigator had contributed to a finding of violation in connection with the first discrimination charge. |

7:05am -- Allsup Kin Arrested Again in Clovis Permalink comment E-mail
By Bruce Daniels Monday, 22 October 2007 00:06 Grandson of convenience store founder charged with ramming a man's vehicle. Lonnie Duane Allsup II, 18, who is facing trial in December for burglary and other charges in the trashing of an Air Force sergeant's home last summer, was arrested earlier this month for allegedly ramming another man's car, the Clovis News Journal reported. Police said they got a call around 4 a.m. Oct. 13 from a woman who said Allsup tried to make her stay with him at a house in Clovis and when she got into a vehicle with a friend and Allsup followed them, the News Journal said. The male driver told police that Allsup drove at them, swerving at the last minute, and then rammed the back of his vehicle at a stoplight, the paper reported. Allsup was taken into custody after his vehicle hit a mailbox and as of this weekend was being held on a $10,000 bond at the Curry County Detention Center charged with aggravated battery, the News Journal said. The grandson of Lonnie Allsup, the owner and founder of the Allsup's convenience store chain, the younger Allsup is scheduled to go on trial in December on charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and receipt of stolen property in an unrelated incident that occurred in June, the paper reported. He and five others are accused of burglarizing the home of Air Force M/Sgt. Vince Bowers, while Bowers and his family were away on a camping trip, according to the News Journal and earlier reports. The Bowers family returned home on July 1 to find their house ransacked, burglarized and damaged by a fire that was set in the attic and killed two family pets, earlier reports said |

yep, that's called creating a hostile work environment...they cant threat retaliation for complaining...call corporate or write a letter to corporate...just because someone works for nearly minimum wage does not mean that they can be treated like that! Allsups needs to wake up and treat their regular clerks better, we are the ones that are carrying the stores, not the managers!! At least in Texas if they cut your hours, you can file for partial unemployment and get money from the Government to make up for the loss of income...most pple don't know that they can file for partial unemployment...look into it for NM
