A bomb threat at an Arizona school resulted in arrests, prosecution and convictions. Why can't local officials solve these?

If I recall correctly, a student was arrested for at least one of the earlier bomb threats. Part of the problem is our state's juvenile code which tends to protect these young people from actual prosecution unless the crime committed was serious in nature. In my opinion, law enforcement and school officials should file civil claims against the offender's parents to collect the costs involved in reacting to these fake bomb threats. I'm sure we could be talking several thousand tax dollars each time one of the incidents occurs. |
