The City better get the crime under control rather than worry about parking downtown or pet limits. Otherwise, our property values will sink as more people move away and others will decide not to move here. Then Silver will become the classic western mining ghost town. Parking won't be a problem then!

There are always advantages and disadvantages to every town/city. You can live in a small town with increasing violence or live in a place like Scottsdale, where most of the people are "fake" and require an outrageously high-priced car to feel secure with themselves. I'll choose the former. I am certainly not implying you are a part of that majority...I'm just sayin'.

Silver City is not a safe place to live.

As time goes on and this country deteriorates even more these acts of violence will increase . Best to be looking to be able to defend one self .

Reading some of the posts here would make you think Silver City is the crime capital of New Mexico, the USA, and the world. You people are all laughable. Most of us who live here feel fairly safe. No matter where you live in American these days, you are going to hear or read about violence of some type. Crime is a fact of life, no matter where you live.

Most of the crime here can be linked to drugs, and or gangs. If we could get rid of the drugs this place would be next to paradice. But like Country Boy says it's not just here it's everywhere. If you see a crime in progress report it. If you see people buying or selling drugs report it. If your willing to pay more taxes we can hire more police.

That is very hard to believe. It is a very peaceful town with the best law enforcement money can buy. That guy that was supposedly stabbed. He was just trying to get attention. Silver City is paradise on earth. |
