United Airlines to cut 1,300 Houston jobs

United was already going to make the cuts in Houston - they are just using the Southwest International as an excuse -- and since the Southwest international isn't for another 2 years it's funny how the United cuts start this fall

If what you say is true Ex-Airliner, why is it that some people have to base there decision{s} off the oppinion{s} of others? Why and when did we as a people lose the ability to say what we mean and mean what we say. Stand on our word without compromising, or using a excuse and piggybacking off what others may do/think or say about you. Is it, and this is my opinion only..... we don't want to take the hit of our reaction and try to distrubute the blame. MMMMMMMMM

...for some reason airport bow down to Southwest...however SW has no loyalty. If the city doesn't make money they will shut down their operation or cut flights leaving the airport with a big hole in their service. If UA cuts back, and things don't work out for SW, oh well, Houston loses.
