With the scope and scale of corruption and ineptitude among incumbents "serving" mostly special interests in the legislature, it's doubtful that the inexperience of legislative aides even registers among California's problems.
From this latest attempt at journalism: "A 2004 report by the Public Policy Institute of California found that some new legislators said their staff members "don't even know how to collect the mail, let alone draft complex legislation.""
To the aforementioned new legislators: 1. If your staff members are inept, fire them. Otherwise YOU are inept. 2. Why would anyone with any sense believe that Californians require COMPLEX legislation drafted?
Note to Karen da Sa: How did Californians ever manage before lobbyists ever involved themselves in their state's legislative process, do you believe?
What a pitiful attempt at political journalism!

Em, you left out some information that the Reporter, Vacaville, included in their version of the same article, so I'll help you...
"Like all newly elected lawmakers, Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes(D) arrived in Sacramento needing two things to ensure his success: legislative achievements and campaign money."
This is a shock? Hehehehe! Most come to Sacramento or Washington D.C. with an agenda!
Mix in race, political paybacks, lobbyist, etc, etc, etc, what else would one expect?
I'd bet that if Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes(D) had his way, he sell Los Angels to the Mexico government. Think I'm kidding?

Please wait...
This is what term limits will bring you.
Even the founding fathers knew that term limits breed bad governments. Pennsylvania had experimented, and found themselves in a similar dysfunctional boat to where we are now.
Term limits get rid of those bad apples (so happy to see Don Perata go!) but breed corruption and laziness among the rank and file that wasn't there before. Not one person in our state government has a reason to think about the state 10, 20 years from now.

Same thing going on in sacramento as in the rest of the country, rich getting richer and well then theres the rest of us, struggling to stay afloat. This country needs a revolt against the rich who are destroying the livelyhood hood of "the rest of us".People need to stand up and be heard! Special interest groups lining the pockets of the rich and making there the own set of rules to run this country. Our government is out of control. REVOLT!!!!!!!!!I hope big brother is listening. Kiss my ash!!!!!!!!
