There has been so so so many bad checks written at this place that they will not take checks anymore. Hot check writing is rampant all over Mountain View.

And people are worried about a few Mexicans?

As far as the "anchor baby" goes.....I am not keen on that either and know much about it first hand. But I fine with people coming here legally.

This hot check writing makes us look like a town of White Trash. Embarrassing !!

ordered that fajitas and it was all onions and peppers with some tiny flavorless bits of meat mixed in, my friends qusedilla looked ok but didnt have much chicken on it.

I came here to find out about the new Mexican place in town.

Didn't find out much about the food place, but learned a lot about the poeple of Mountain View.

I realize many of the trolls are just kids in mom's basement making outrageous statements just to piss people off, but it is obvious that your town is overrun with bigoted, ignorant (can't help that, but you can fix it), stooooopid (can't fix it), vicious, nasty, upstanding xtians, who have rusty old rebel flying trucks, big ciecles in their rear pockets, bad teeth, shaved heads, and are PROUD to be real merrrukin white folks.

I am one of those tourists whose dollars keep your pathetic cess pool going. I come to play and to listen to music on the square. Most of the good stuff is done by out-of-towners.

Your local pickers are becomming known as "knee-knockers", as they have lost the concept of the open jam -- the thing that brought the tourists and their dollars here. They sit in their tight little circles and exclude any and all who wish to sit in, unless they are one of the local good-ole boys.

You had one of the GREAT Arkansas restaurants -- El Ray, out of Heber Springs -- open one halfway between the stoplight and the square.

All I heard about it were comments very like the ones herein. The food is outstanding and the service is just as good.

Many of the local musicians don't play on the square anymore because of the obnoxious, overbearing, judgemental, a-hole tourists who come barging in there with their guitars and try to take over a perfectly friendly jam session. Yes our good local musicians do not play on the square anymore due to closed Gospel Bluegrass groups that do not even approve of dancing taking over the square. they are mostly new retirees or RV people. But there is a ton of Racists around that are not local.These are NOT our local musicians. They go to private homes to jam now.

I think Gomer you think those are local but they are not. There are several old time jams that are very open still on the Square.

Since the big uprising at the Folk Center supposedly there will be some great playing this summer at the Square since the musicians will not be returning to the Folk Center due to employment disputes.

Time will tell. Yes and I agree that the people ran the Mexicans out of here. I know some of the people who made the calls and they are not locals but new people to our town who want to "keep the riff raff out" and "keep it white". Very sad !!

There are WAAAAAY more good decent folks here than unfriendly racist hillbillies, OK? If you want to come here fine, just don't show up complaining and bitching about the locals. Duh. We are what made this area what it is. There's lots of musical gatherings going on away from the square. For a reason. The roots of folk music go way back in these hills, generations back, and there are more intelligent talented people than you can imagine. I just know for a fact that many of them stay away from the touristy crap because it's not worth the condescending attitudes that come with some of the visitors. Feel free to come and enjoy what the area has to offer, or feel free to leave if you don't like it here.

What you are actually talking about are poor people. It's really poor people that you don't like, not Mexicans. Sure, when you have a large concentration of poor people, you see small unkempt residences, and more crime. Not all Mexicans and blacks live in slums. If you drive through an area with a population of poor white people, it will be just as unseemly as any where else.
