Are Green HID Headlights Illegal in Mtn. View? I have seen a couple of people with them and I like them so much better than the blue ones. I am thinking of getting me some. Where can you get them? Any info would be nice. Thank You.

HID headlights are the ones that blind you when you have them coming at you even on low beam. They are blueish in color and now there must be green ones available. From a drivers perspective they must be great to use, but they are blinding for oncoming drivers.

Aftermarket High Intensity Discharge (HID) can be a great addition to your vehicle, given they are used in the proper manner (projectors work best), a.k.a. NOT in the stock reflectors, and actually keep glare less than stock reflector headlights, but almost nobody uses them like that, so we still get a bad rep for using them, although I am one of maybe 3 people in my city with retrofit projectors. However that was just a rant, and I believe green is not a legal color anywhere you go.

The headlights have to be approved by the Dept. of Transportation. It will say it on the box. If they are not it will sometimes say for novelty purposes only. State law says you cannot change the original intended color of a light on a vehicle. Brake and tailights red, headlights white, blinkers yellow/orange.

Only reason HID's blind other drivers is because people only buy the conversion kit and not the projectors to go with it. So when they are put in a regular housing they clear off out and shoot all ways. Which causes the blindness to oncoming traffic. If they are pt in projector housing you would not have this problem because the projectors shoots the beam of light downward.

I have the green hid kit low beams much more brighter than the blue to me cut down on glare and give the driver a clear view of the road not sure how bright they are to other drivers looking at them but if the houseing is angled down there should be no problems I've pass and rode behind several officers never got pulled over or anything said about them but one of my friends has the same kit as I and he has got a ticket

HID's are the douchiest thing you can do to a vehicle besides lowering little trucks. They blind everyone, the kids with them need to get fined. When I'm wearing contacts or glasses at night and meet one the glare is ridiculous. All for their gaudy "aesthetics". They're ugly and a hazard.

I have 8000k hids. I see a lot better at night. I pass people with hids all the time and I never get blinded or anything. And I wear contacts. I think it's just old people not wanting things to change as usual. Seriously, it's a good customization to add to any vehicle to personalize it however you please. Get over yourself.

Bro, I've got special eyes. I was shocked enough that they had my brand, now stupid assholes are driving around in their stupid little lowered trucks blinding people. They honestly are a hazard and COMPLETELY unnecessary. You can say they help all you want but they really do annoy other drivers. ESPECIALLY drivers in cars, the low beams on hid's go right through the back and directly into my rearview. When you can see the lights of the person behind you, ahead of you, it's overkill. Deal with it man, you're a nuisance.
