Mercy Special Care Hospital Nanticoke, PA is celebrating the hospital's 100th Anniversary this year. The doors of the facility originally opened on October 12th 1909. Members of the Centennial Committee of Mercy Special Care Hospital are highlighting the event on Sunday, July 19th at 2:00 p.m. with a Liturgy at St. Stanislaus Church, Church Street, Nanticoke and continuing with a Reception scheduled to be held at the Luzerne County Community College Educational Conference Center at 4:00 p.m. Former employees of the facility and the community are invited but reservations are required. Cost is $25 .00 for the dinner. For additional information contact Mercy Special Care Hospital.

I was born in that hospital in 1952 when it was Nanticoke State Hospital.
