I was not raised Christian. No one in my family are Christian. My husband is Christian and there are alot of things I don't understand by just reading the bible.
What exactly are the "sins"? Is there a list or something?? What does it mean to live a christian life? Cast out all sinners or accept and love them?? |

Do you go to church? Seek counseling from your pastor. If you don't attend church, ask a friend to recommend a pastor for you to talk to. I recommend Joseph Griffis. He's the pastor at Grace Baptist Church and his number is in the book. Hope you find the answers you're looking for.

1 Jesus encourages all believers to grow in relationship, commitment, and obedience to Him. This is the essence of how to live a Christian life. Our relationship, commitment, and obedience are done out of love, not constraint. John 14:21 says, "Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him." Living the Christian life is not abiding by an agenda or following a set of strict rules. Instead, the Christian life is characterized by: Understanding that you are a new creation! 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" Transforming and renewing your mind. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Treating others with love. Philippians 2:3-4 says, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." Living out the teachings of Christ. Jesus taught: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:3-10). Sharing your faith. Matthew 5:14-16 says, "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Living the Christian life does not mean enjoying a life of ease and never experiencing problems. 1 Peter 5:8 says that there is an enemy who wishes to destroy us: "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." But we also read that Jesus has overcome the world! No matter what opposition you face, living the Christian life is worth it! Enjoying a relationship with God and His Son Jesus, being confident of where you will spend eternity, and living in day-to-day fellowship with Him is far greater than any opposition you may face. |

1 Here are the quotes from Jesus that proves that he lied: 1) And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain,`Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:21-22 NAS) 2) Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.(Matthew 7:7-8 NAB) 3) Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.(Matthew 18:19-20 NAS) 4) Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.(Mark 11:24-25 NAB) 5) And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.(Luke 11:9-13 NAB) 6) And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.(John 14:13-14 NAB) 7) If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you.(John 15:7 NAB) 8) It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.(John 15:16 NAB) 9) On that day you will not question me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. Until now you have not asked anything in my name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.(John 16:23-24 NAB) A lot of Christians ignore what Jesus actually says in the Bible. They also tend to add things to the actual words to make them say something else. If you honestly and truthfully read these quotes, without adding to them, it is very easy to see that Jesus is not saying that God will think about your prayers. He says God will grant all your prayers. Clearly, God doesn’t grant all prayers and this proves that Jesus was a habitual liar. |

1 Don't sweat it. How long have you been married to your Christian husband? Surely there is an indicator there to your questions? If there's not a little something special about that man and how he treats others I don't think you need to concern yourself with any "religion" he may claim to have. I think you should google for a list of "sins". I would suggest you google and research the teachings of Jesus Christ for what it means to be "Christ"-ian. There will be some answers there (Jesus at the well, Jesus's comments about the legal arm of Judaism, the Pharisees). I know that there are a couple of posters on here just dying to tell you EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT CHRISTIANITY, but they are very tiresome. There are many posters who scroll through most of that stuff. |

1 I also get a rush when I buy a lottery ticket. But it is very short-lived, until Tues. or Friday nights. Christ's teaching about love of others and treatment of the needy requires something of us that stands the test of time. |

Those promises are for those who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And those who have a personal relationship with Him know He doesn't lie. The devil is the liar. He is the father of all lies. He was a liar from the beginning and the truth is not in him. |

1 Jesus didn't lie about these prayers. Have you got ANY unconfessed sins in your life that you didn't ask forgiveness for? Are you holding any kind of unforgiveness towards anybody? Are you serving God as He wants you to? Are you selfishly asking for things that you don't need? Do you love God with all your heart? If you answer these honestly, you might just see what could be hindering your prayers. Not to mention the fact that you call HIs son a liar..You can't use God to get anything you want or call on Him only when you need something. Unless you have repented and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, God will ignore you just as you ignore Him....Jesus plainly tells you that too but it looks like you only read the part that interest you and that is the idea that YOU might get something for nothing..Instead of claiming that Christians don't read the entire text, maybe you should take a little of your own advise and read the whole thing for yourself. God loves you enough to continue waiting for you and although He hears your prayers, maybe He is waiting for you to give up the one thing that He wants more than anything and that is your love and a personal relationship with you....If your children NEVER talked to you unless they wanted you to constantly give them something and that is the ONLY time they even acknowledge you even exsisted, Would you always do that for them? |
