If they applied and was not hired. They either failed drug test(which almost half do), had a criminal record, and failed the physical.
The Mexicans are NOT being paid less. They are making the same amount of money that everyone is. Race does not determine pay wages. That's illegal folks, prettttyyyyyyy sure a large corporation such as Parkdale isn't going to get mixed up in discrimination laws.
NO they are not firing the white employees so they can hire more mexicans. The only people getting fired are the people who are not performing job duties, failing drug test, or breaking attendance policy. If you owned your own business and you had a worker who was on drugs, was late often, called in "sick" a couple days every month and just flat out sucked doing their job.... Would you continue to pay them to LOSE you money or would you hire a hispanic that was already trained and would be there every day on time?? Hmmmmmm, I think the answer is obvious.
Another FACT - It's not JUST mexicans coming from this other plant. As part of a severance package, workers are offered to relocate if their are open jobs in other mills. Which is FAIR! Their plant shut down due to the building being leased and foreclosed by the bank. All of those people lost their jobs. It's only fair as a company that Parkdale offered them a job at another facility. White, black, yellow, purple, American, African, Mexican, Canadian< Australian ETC ETC.... It doesn't matter what color or nationality they are... It just so happens that the Hispanics will follow their work and make adjustments to keep their job. Company loyalty.
Parkdale DOES NOT pay the Hispanic workforces rent. From my understanding, they DID furnish them with hotel rooms for two weeks so that they could find places to live. After two weeks they were on their own.

NOONE was terminated in order to give "them" a job. Parkdale had positions that needed to be filled! How do you consider them filling those positions as "taking someones job??!!
