New Radio Station Worries City

A new radio station has popped up to serve the Mount Vernon community with a classic country format, local news and information, etc. Apparently this worries the local city officials in Mt Vernon as I have heard the have done everything they could to make the initial months of operations uncomfortable for the new station and the parent companies other businesses - even family members.

What is it that the city of Mount Vernon officials want to hide? Apparently the leader of this mess is the city manager who has the Mayor as his puppet. I understand the station has moved the studios outside the city limits to escape harrasment from the city - but plans to expose the wrong doings of the city in the future. For now they are pumping out a great mix of classic country in Mount Vernon and Sulphur Springs.

I hate to see this type of thing - where a small town literally commits suicide like this. Apparently the downtown is becoming a ghost town. Even the Dollar General is moving out of the downtown area in a few months. I'm not sure where the problems started - but from what I can understand is the city doesnt want any signs downtown - nor anything that generates any kind of traffic - nothing to hinder the "historic" aspect of the downtown. Even if that means it is empty and a ghost town. Hell the courthouse already looks like a haunted house. Paint peeling off everywhere giant cob webs all over - where is the pride people?
