2 It's people like you that allow the continuing issues in the middle east to control this country. God bless these two men, and thier families. They paid a price for us, and will continue to do so for years to come. In 1979 we had a president who could not deal with these terrorist thugs. We have another one just like him today, and if Iran isn't somehow held accountable for it's actions, soon there will be a situation we are not at all prepared to deal with. Forgetting the past is what is wrong with the majority of Americans today. Just worry about what is in front of YOU, not your country. Forget about past actions of aggression, so it can happen again. Remember the old cliche, "Those who forget the past are doomed to re-live it". |

2 Great post!! Like he said in the article, it is frustrating to see that we are dealing with the same problems today. These terrorists do see us as weak, we should let loose with every weapon we have and flatten those countries that harbor terrorists and fanatics. They are like pathetic playground bullies that only understand one thing. We might end up killing a lot of innocent people and get a lot of grief from the rest of the world, but they wouldn't do shit about it and we would solve the problem once and for all!! |

1 Which leader- Ron Paul? If Obama's trying to get us out of either Iraq or Afghanistan, he's certainly taking his time doing so. The US military isn't going anywhere in either country since the real purpose for invading and occupying both of them was to establish a military presence on either side of Iran and the oil and gas resources in the Caspian Sea region. |

3 . I personally enjoyed reading this article, and I don't see any issues with putting this in the Dispatch. And what happened 60 years ago is STILL happening, that was the point of the story. And I am quite sick of hearing about H1N1, and everything else you listed has to do with "preventing" the spread of it. Take care of yourself if you are that worried..wear a mask if you have to go to the hospital. And blood work and X-rays can be done other places than a hospital (like your dr office or urgent care). You can't stop the spread of illness in a hospital, its near impossible. They are a breeding ground for viruses. So anyways, maybe you should read the 50 articles on H1N1 and not read this one if you are not interested? |

This was a great story. I remember when the hostages were taken and the count of days on each nightly news broadcast: 444 days in total. I even remember the news when they were released the day Reagan was inaugurated. What brave men and they lead very interesting lives. It was interesting to me to see what had happened to them 30 years later. I think they served our country well and proudly.

And to this day, Mrs. Moore is still receiving hush money from the Government.

1 Carter had already negotiated their release before Reagan was sworn in, you idiot. Why do you think they were released the day after he left office? |

When was Americans held hostage by Iran? I began to read this story and thought it was now. I have never heard this story.

1 No, Carter didn't negotiate their release. Iran was p!ssed at him for what they perceived as his support of the Shah. Carter basically sat on his hands for 444 days, a period some called his "Rose Garden" days.(They felt he literally sat in the White House Rose Garden pondering the situation.) Carter was totally inept with foreign diplomacy. There is also a lot of speculation that Reagan secretly negotiated the release, called an "October surprise." See: http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h2021.html . |

1 You reap the fruits of your labour, America has never been the inocent victim of anything wether it was Iraq, Afganistan, Vietnam, Chili, Argantina, Panama, Grenada, Lebanon, or any other misadventure they had taken in order to advance their cause regardless of death and distruction they bring about. What a load Victim. |
