No, the gay marriage thing is because states came up with "unions" but just couldn't actually make them work exactly the same as marriages. Each state held back on one or two piddly points just to make a distinction.

And this was because the churches insisted on a difference.

So, the reasons they want marriage rather than unions is because the churches wanted to cheat them in petty ways and it backfired.

Being of an ethnic group, religious faith, or gender is perfectly normal and natural. Being homosexual is abnormal, unnatural, and by most peoples' standards, perverse. I cannot understand why these people are being legitimized and catered to. They shouldn't be getting rights; they should be getting psychotherapy. Now, before you go crazy on me remember that I have rights to free speech, even though I'm Christian, white, male, anglo, heterosexual, self employed, republican.

Yeah, you have the right to free speech but so do I. And if it's so unnatural, why does it occur all over the animal kingdom? They(gays/lesbians) are perfectly normal. They just happen to be attracted to the same sex instead of the opposite like you and me are. Please explain what's wrong with that. I'd love to hear it.

You have freedom of speech to spew hatred(when you call someone perverse or abnormal because of the way they are, that's hatred) but I have it to call you a bigot.
