Did anyone else see the weird lights in the sky in the mt vernon area? I was outside with my boyfriend when we noticed 4 huge lights resembling spot lights going around and around in the night sky, then they would meet in the middle and join one big light, then go back out to four different lights, this kept going on and on for a while. In a pattern. Was just wondering if anyone else saw them. They disappeared as suddenly as they showed up. There was no helicopter or beams of light coming from the ground. They seemed to be hovering above the clouds.

Yes, I did. I saw it around 4 in the morning. What woke me up was my dog barking and with so many break ins around here I got up to see what was going on and I saw it too. I first thought that it was a cop looking for someone with a spot light but then figured out it was coming from the sky. So no you aint crazy there really was.

No, we tried to get a picture, but the lights weren't bright enpough. I saw it too, did the lights you saw do the same thing I seen? So very strange. I still wonder what it was.

I seen rays or beams going around and around is all. You said you live in Mt. Vernon, well I live in Livingston so it could of been the distance. I wonder too.

They rotate, circle, come together , move apart. I promise they'll be out tonight also. Just watch and see......or drive over that way. You will see them better the closer you get.

In a pattern. Was just wondering if anyone else saw them. They disappeared as suddenly as they showed up. There was no helicopter or beams of light coming from the ground. They seemed to be hovering above the clouds. WE lit our fireworks on the 5th so my wife cold be there (work). I didn't see the lights but my wife was about 120 yds. from where I was and she did see them. Thing is they could not have been ground based lighting. Where we live there is no way we could see them surrounded by hills with old timber sitting on them all. She thinks it was police/military drug searching choppers. There was some chatter on her grandmothers scanner alluding to something like that later in the evening. My thing was what the hell would pot jumpers be doing looking around at night? So that made 0% sense to me. What she described sounds same as yours but not real rhythmic. And they moved around much more than any ground based spot light when she explained where she had seen them and how they moved. I mean you can't cross a hollow to both ridges with light pointed down when you see them from both hills. With a spot light you would see the beam headed to it's origin. With all the firework smoke we made (I spent a lot on fireworks ^_^). Some of that scanner chatter mentioned someone reporting gun fire with the reply they didn't see any gun fire but did see some pretty neat fireworks (thanks scanner people!). So maybe that was what it was, choppers out at night. But I never heard any helicopter sounds that night and if they would have been looking for...whatever they would have been pretty low flying I would think. So I have no idea what it was, but I can say with pretty strong certainty the origin of the lights was not on the ground. I'm pretty glad someone else seen them. I was starting to think it was just my wife going nuts. She explained it to me and every possible way I had to explain i toff she pointed something else out that made it not work. So I guess it's a mystery...

If that was the case everyone would see it. Hell, I am almost in brodhead and I dont see lights coming from the brodhead fair..
