I would like to see these jerks try to break into a house, where theres a pit bull, or a german shepherd. They would come running out with the dog hanging on the seat of their pants. I wouldn't call the police right away, i would just let the doggies have a little fun.

Why would any peaceable person want to possess and carry a firearm? The Bradys say you shouldn't. The State Police say you shouldn't. Mayor Daley and various Chicago area legislators say you should be unarmed.
But Common Sense tells me it is better to be armed whether at home or going about one's daily activities because one never knows when or where......

And, I add, reform the law enforcement and judicial systems so that a person who exercises the fundamental right to self defense is not the one who is punished.

Seriously, what is wrong with people? This poor older gentleman. What, we can't even feel safe in our own homes that we work our asses off for. This world is sad.

I sold my gun a few years back. I'm going right out to Cabelas and buying a new one this week. I agree there be ironclad self defense laws that prevent any lawsuit or criminal against those defending themselves, their family or property.

Too bad these losers didn't run into a "2nd Amendment type" home owner in Elk Grove.

It's called the "Castle doctrine" as in every man's home is his castle... and a LOT of states are enacting it...

I promise that when deadly force is required, I WON'T miss.... And ON your property, INCLUDING IN your HOME, ccw AND open carry are both lawful, as long as you don't "brandish".. A drunk was at my door one night, wasn't taking the "You're lost, it's NOT your house, get out of here" for an answer, so I moved sideways enough for him to see I was packing, one of my loudenboomers... wow... talk about a reversal of attitude....
