All the teachers called him by his middle name instead. And could imagine if your kid came home and said, " Mommy, God hit/bit/kicked me today!" or "God told me to do it". Of course there have been some other doosies, as well: like the one where the hospital named the girl fe-mall-e.

In God We Trust is written on our money, in our government buildings, etc. It is a common phrase.

Maybe he thinks he can, but that phrase has long been in the public domain and there's no way the USPTO would grant a trademark on it. It would be like some restaraunteur trying to trademark the phrase "hot dog". T'aint gonna happen.
