Another post just for you, maybe this will help you understand me better.

Conservative forces within government have also fought a national plan for many decades, always smearing it as socialized medicine. That term was invented by a government public relations consultant named Clem Whitaker in the 1950s, at the height of the anti-communist Cold War. Whitaker said, "All you have to do is give national health insurance a bad name, and you'll have a Devil. America is opposed to socialism, so we're going to name national health insurance 'socialized medicine

America's system is by far the most paperwork-heavy and expensive to administer. And our ability to deliver the primary health has been crippled by our emphasis on specialization, which is far more focused on short-term disease management. Other countries are much better at providing primary care. Sorry, but it's true.

The idea that a free democratic society should guarantee all of its citizen’s access to health care--a firmly established principle in the other democracies of the world--has not yet become part of the culture of the world's oldest democracy. As Americans we should insist that this be corrected. The future of our physical and financial health depends on it.

You can't dispute these cost factors.
Your system does not work and is not sustainable.
You don't have the best health care even at a reasonable price, much less for the price your paying.
Your health care rating is near the bottom of the top forty nations.
America was rated twenty-ninth in infant mortality.
In an eight country ranking, the United States came in last in years of potential life expectancy among people at age sixty.
America thinks their so smart that they still want a system based on profit, because God for bid you might think your a socialist.

What color is a Blue-Dog Democrat?
Tennessee Blue-Dog Rep. Lincoln Davis is likely to vote on health care reform the way the pharmaceutical industry wishes. As a matter of fact, the drug and medical industries are taking $1.5 million a day from us to lobby Congress. Since Medicare got part D from a drug-friendly Congress a few years ago - Rep. Davis among the ayes - drug profits have soared.

Was Medicare good for them?

You decide. While Wall and Main Streets USA were floundering this year, cash-rich pharmaceutical industries were cruising international boulevards, top down, on a spending spree.

Abbott Laboratories spent $6.6 billion for the Belgian company Solvay in September, adding to a 10-month season of acquisitions.

A New York Times story showed that Pfizer bought Wyeth in January for $68 billion to crack the credit freeze. In March Merck paid $41 billion for Schering Plough, and Roche paid $47 billion for the rest of Genentech.

Money is certainly not a problem for the pharmaceutical industries, so it was no problem for them to pony up postage and printing costs for a nice flyer to send to each registered voter in the 4th Congressional District telling us what a fine job Lincoln Davis is doing in Congress.

"Seniors are saving $1,200 per year with Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage," the flyer said. And it promises that Rep. Davis will support a bill to "help close the doughnut hole, and save seniors as much as $1,800 more every year."

It's a solution that will threaten Medicare's future, and as private industry leaders like Walgreen, Kroger and Wal-Mart are showing, not as effective as jaw-boning. Congress does no one any favors by listening to the pharmaceutical and medical industry lobbyists in structuring this health care reform bill. Yes, seniors enjoy cheap drugs. But no one likes the fact that Medicare is heading for a cash crash.

Rep. Davis lined up before with Republicans to deny the government the right to negotiate lower drug costs for Medicare patients, as is done with most nations - Canada and Mexico are two. Send him your letter, make a phone call, but tell him what you think.

Here's mine: Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Kroger and many other private businesses have done more than Lincoln Davis and his Blue-Dog Democrats to leverage down the cost of drugs. He and his ilk will do us no favors by adding billions to the cost of Health Care Reform by following the guidance of the pharmaceutical industry.

So what color is a blue-dog when he runs from responsibility? Not red, white and blue for sure. Yellow? Makes one think.

He voted with the Republicans; only because his @aa was grass if he had supported Pelsoi amd all the commies, marxist, and socialist. I felt sorry for him at the town meetings, the guy did not have a clue what was happening. He needs to get involved, change parties, and get with the program or get out of the office!!

Go ahead & vote for him we did not need his vote at this time
we will get it on something else down the road.
Health care will pass, get over it.
The working poor, you know the ones who do all the work, they are the ones who need health care.
The least you can do for our workers is take care of them when they get sick.
Next time you get sick, just pretend that, you have no money & no insurance and are behind on a house payment.
I bet you dont have the heart do ya!

I will gladly pay more in taxes,to see my working poor friends
have health care.

You don't pay taxes.

You pay Fica & you pay Medicare, which is really Social Security, but if you get a tax return, you do NOT pay Federal Taxes. And if you do, you don't pay much in taxes, so why would it bother someone like you?

Very few people in Fentress county pay anything in Fesderal taxes. The fact that they take it out of your pay does not mean that you pay taxes, if you get it back in a tax return.

Does everyone deserve "Health Care"... YES

But you must show some responsability in HOW you provide it. We dont need health insurance coverage, we need a 'consitutional Amendment" and if you dont think so, you really are lost. The insurance ARE working with Insurance groups, and if you dont think so, your uneducated about the facts.

This will only help put us into the brink of disaster, out of control spending...

I dont think the Bush and republicans leadership, could have ever imagined the level of unbrideled spending.. The democrats would have been yelling bloody murder.

Now its the American people. Voice your opposition before its too late... This is a massive power grab.
Your rights are know up for grabs....stand or weep, the choice IS yours.

Modern Day Ant and Grasshopper:

The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing,'It's Not Easy Being Green.' ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, We shall overcome. Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight. Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ants food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it. The ant has
disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackled, once prosperous and once peaceful, neighborhood.

The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.

There is a need to fix health care in this Nation but not with the current health care proposal. Totally trash the 1,000+ page proposal and put something together with more simple language and don't go the way of socialized health care. Some people may very well be misinformed about the current proposal but unless you have a Phd in law you will not understand this proposal at all. Simplify and shorten the proposal and do not allow socialized medicine.
i understand fixing health care. what i don't understand and i may be clueless in this, with all the people losing jobs, how can we afford health care. i mean. i have been laid of 2 times and in dec. will be 1 more lay off under my belt. i just was wondering how the pres. excepts the ones who lost jobs to get and pay for health care. i mean i have a sick hubby that i take care of. i am not complaining about this . i just don't understand this. call me crazy. and stupid. could someone please explain this to me. thank yuo

Are you paying medical expense out of your pocket? Just curious, I guessed that if you were laid off you lost your coverage like many of the people who were laid off, lost their insurance, are uninsurable and are facing bankrupcy because of illness.
