I am trying to find out what happened at the Drop Zone Saturday night. I was there when the shooting occured at around 3:00 am Sunday morning. I had just approached my vehicle when I heard a gun shot. I know someone was taken by ambulance due to a gun shot wound to his leg. I was told the local news announced this but I can't find any information.

I was working that night and I just wanted to clear the air because there has been alot of comments about what happen that night and that alot of people do not want there kidsw in there...first of all this happen by a bunch of adult...KIDS are not allowed in a bar. Second there was a fight and this dumba** that could not defend his self any other way got mad and pulled the gun out and shot guy (that was already on the ground) in the leg. The guy that did the shooting was taken to jail that night. It sucks that it happens and it suck that the Drop Zone is going to take the hit because of some stupid drunk A** , i mean this could have happened anywhere. But the guy that was shot is doing fine, and the drop zone did what it took to try to get things back undercontrol but as we know if someone whats to do somthing bad enough it does not matter what you do, it is going to happen. This coul dhave been done in a grocery store but unfortunaly it wasw done in the bar,so now it just gives people with no lives something else to talk about...

This is typical crap that happens at these places. Its funny that the owner of Drop ZOne is the brother of the previous owner of Full House that was involved in a shoot out at the Bar a few years ago.

I was outside at my car when the four guys came out that were in the first fight at midnight. The guy that got popped in the mouth got a gun from his car and was standing around yelling when the other two guys came out. The tall guy in a yellow shirt took it from him and threw it in the woods to the left of the bar, I think he hammered a bottle of Jack Daniels and drove off with his buddy puking out the back window, ha ha. I went home after that, but the news said there was someone shot at 3AM... they must have found the gun in the woods by then.

Second of all it wasn't the same people and thirdly who gives a shit if the owners brother got shot a full house what's that got to do with this situation? Nothing! Itisn't the owners faught there are immature adults in this world! Second if you listen to the news your dumb anyway they twist and turn shit all the time they weren't there and neither were y'all apparantly! Thirdly, if you consider 19 yrs and up kids that on you cause kids aren't allowed in a bar!!!

Its kind of funny that you say you seen the guys with the gun...but if you truly knew what you were talking about you would know that there are no woods on the left of the bar....to get to the woods they would have had to walk a distance across the road and then threw it in the woods so, this goes to show how much you remember from that night....this all happened in the bar not outside so get it straight or dont comment. The person with the gun was in the bar and then arrested. THE END, everyone needs to get a life!

What does this have to do with Saturday night? There was no shoot out an idiot shot the dropzone owners brother, because he was trying to get the drunk idiot to exit the bar for causing trouble (doing the right thing)....how is that a shoot out, and how does this make them bad people??? and i guess if you want to compare the two it is sad that the guys were around when both shootings happened but what you are overlooking and fail to mention it was not them with the gun, it was some other idiots. Something like this can happen anywhere.

Sure Roger, I would love to drink some delicious SoCo with you. That sweet succulent nectar from the gods is so good. I always have a 1/2 pint of SoCo in my back pocket.

Look for me at the end of the bar. I will have my painted on wrangler jeans and my Def Leppard t-shirt on. Cowboy UP! See you tonight.

Really? I'm glad that you know the guy that got shot is fine because i didn't know that until 8:00 the next morning when we left UAB ER. Not to mention we had never been there before and didn't know a soul in there. but it's good to know that you and the staff at the drop zone are so close to us that you know he's ok. P.S. By the way... THAT BAR SUCKED!!

So me, my fiance, and his cousin are at a wedding saturday night... and we decide to go out with all the young adults from the wedding party. Since we had never been to the Drop Zone before, we didn't know what to expect. We actually went there only because we knew they did kareoke. We stayed for about an hour and a half before we decided to go home. On our way out the door a fight breaks out right in front of us and my fiance and his cousin got pushed in the middle of it. Gun shots were then fired and my fiance's cousin was rushed to UAB ER after waiting for an ambulance to get there for about a good 20 minutes. The reason for that is because the owner of the bar laughed at us and told us we were crazy... there were no gun shots fired in his bar. Anyways the bullet went through the top of his thigh then lunged itself into his ankle. Unfortunately, they did not retrieve the bullet because the ER doctor said it was too high of a risk for infection. But he is doing better for those of you who care.
Now in the matter of the manner in which the police handled the situation... did not turn out so well. The first cop at the scene did not search any of the 15 people that he let leave. When the second cop showed up about 10min later he finally put the place on lock down and started to get statements from witnesses. After another 2 hours they finally let us go after making us show proof that we were related to the victim before they would tell us what hospital he was taken to.
In case your wondering... the cops searched the suspect and found a pistol on him that had been fired. They also found gun shot residue on him which he claims is from ealier that day when he went hunting... YEa RIGHT!! Thats FUNNY!!
ANyways, we would like to give a HUGE thanks to the eye witness that came forward that night. We are very grateful you were there and GOD BLESS YOU!! As for the Fultondale Police DEPT thank you for trying to help but you guys are a pretty sorry excuse for law enforcement. And as for The Drop Zone is concerned.... if WE and the ABC board have anything to do with it... it won't be open much longer. As for the owner of the Drop Zone maybe next time you should be more aware of the surroundings in your own establishment. And next time something like this happens... you should be a little more serious about it. It was a very unfortunate event but justice is being served!!

Well I think its time that the law steps in at the drop zone cause there has been a lot of under age drinking in there. And the owner knows about it. But about the shooting. It is very messed up because the guy that got shot had nothing to do with the fight. And I heard that he was only in the wqy casue there where only one guy there doin securty. But it is what it is and hopefuly the out come will be just

Just alittle comment...I was actually working there and I am one of the people that stayed to verify the person that done this. I found out early this morning that the gentleman that was shot was ok. I am truly sorry that is happen but please, and it was crazy but I dont want you to think the drop zone he some horrible place because honestly the owner and security to there best to keep this from happen and trust me this was the last thing anyone thought would happen. hope all is well and again im sorry this occured. Just keep in mind people can only control a situation to a certain exstent. Also why do you think the abc board needs to be all up in this they handle the Alchol part of the establishment not fights that happen within the department...best wishes to the gentalman that was hurt as for you though you need to grow up some and relieze this was a shock to everyone and things happen that is out of people control even if they have hawk eyes on what is going on in their establishment....you cant read peoples mind and assume they have a gun.

ok well let get some shit straight first of all! the owner did not laugh he was standing over the guy when he was shot trying to help him up when the shot went off! I personally called the police as soon as the shot went off they were there less than 10 mins not 20 cause i waited outside for them to get there and told them what happened as well as the other witnesses who knew what happened and who was the shooter (you obviously dont know which guy owns the bar cause he was not even acting like that, other people were get your shit straight) and it dosent matter if there are 1 or 100 security folks there it would have happened anyway there is no way to check everyone for weapons and have them freaking undress when they come in! as for you, you may know how he is doing and what happened to him but you dont know what happened in the process, the shooter was aiming at the guy that was shot it wasnt an accident one of the witnesses knew what was going on and was waiting with me outside to tell it all to the cops weather yall knew it or not the guy was mad over a girl that he was talking to blah blah bullshit, apparently they shooter is a dumb ass that does this shit alot when he drinks he shot his own pinky off when he was drunk so there is no way that we at the bar could has stopped it from happening (it was his first time in there also) it was either gonna happen leaving or it was going to happen outside from my understanding so you can stop running your mouth about the NON facts and just tell the FACT you know! on the lock down situation who cares the shooter was in the bar the whole time, the cops knew that and did what they did for a reason!
PS...tell your mans cousin we at the drop zone are sorry for everything and hope he gets well soon, justice has been served and the boy will be away for quite a while for being a dumbass!!!

. Why get so mad about what someone did it happened and its over with. Luckly the guy didn't die and is alive. But the drop zone is responseable for what goes on in the bar and who they let in. I don't think the guy that got shoot was the one that was suppose to get shot. But all and all the drop zone will still be there. So quit makin a big deal. Its not ur life that was indanger and ur not the one with a bullit in ur leg.

Well I wasn't at the Drop Zone that night (I got called in at the local Red Lobster) but I can say that the Drop Zone is a classy place. There ain't nothing like getting off from a hard day's work in the warehouse and heading over to Drop Zone and pounding back a couple of cold ones. 5pm never comes quick enough or I can never drive fast enough in my 98 F150 for a nice relaxing evening at the Drop Zone. Where else can you go and sip on a cold one, shoot a game of pool, and talk to the hot waitress.

Drop Zone... you're the best!! I think yaw need to settle down and stop giving my local watering hole a bad name. I always feel safe and secure and the Drop Zone. The staff and security are top notch! The pistol shooting was just a freak accident. I hated though, Drop Zone don't go!

appears to me that the local law men of fultondale might be in cohoots with the local drinking establishment...know for a fact of underage drinking and after hours drinking going on....especially when the local law men are thirsty!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
