Helicopters in the sky last night

Anyone know why there were 3-4 helicopters circling overhead for 4 hours in Fultondale last night? Also a military plane flying extremely low and fast down 31 like he was about to crash, followed by another small plane flying way to low and to fast? Fox 6 knew nothing of it, Air traffic control at the airport "Knew nothing about it" and said the military might be doing some sort of training and hung up on me. But the military isn't allowed to do training over civilian areas. Anyone else see this?
