Is there anyone who can tell me anything about Thomas, Sophia and Henry Hood who lived in Mount Morris from abt. 1870 to 1910. Also, is there any information about the underground railroad in that area?

my friends mother passed away and he was looking through her old papers. She had written a paper about the underground railroad.

The paper stated that they would hide people in the coal mines and spread some kind of oil around the mines to throw off the scent. The dogs would then lose the scent. Then after about a week they would leave. The underground railroad then left from there and headed north.
