This so reminds of those parades in Russia or China.
Torrance needs to move into the current decade. A military parade to show off might is very passe. OK for a few years after WW2 but 60 yrs later? Get real.

Ethel, I think you should move if Torrance is too supportive of the military for you. I will judge by your name that you are older and perhaps bitter too. I'm not sure what happened to you but you should be ashamed that you don't honor our military, think of all they do for you, it's the least you can do. I actually feel sorry for you and people like you, lets just hope we don't have too many of your kind in this great city! You know there is a parade in Long Beach tomorrow that might excite you a bit more-you should give that one a try!

I have been going for years and I love it. Once a year this is a must for my dad and my sisters get together and go it is great. It is not only to honor my father but it has also become a family tradition for us. I hope that it will be around for ever.

Too bad we need to sit through 45 minutes of polititians riding in cars at the beginning of the parade. No one cares about them and it makes for a long, boring beginning. I suggest that they put them all in an Air Force transport plane and they can do a fly-over.

Torrance is a sociopolitcally conservative part of LA. As a matter of fact, the S. Bay in general is a politcally conservative part of LA. I think you should move to the Westside or some other "progessive" part of town since Torrance is passe.

Thanks for scaring the shit out of ass that live on the esplanade. I support my troops and I'm very grateful. The fighter jets were flying so low... we had no clue if it was fighter jets, it shook our building, made the electricity flicker, and set off our car alarms that are underground parking. We had quite a scare on esplanade.

How is this parade funded? Is this what my local Torrance taxes are going towards?

Tell us what is wrong with showing off our military mights? What is the similarity to Russia or China are you comparing our military? We are far from those two communist countries who invade and occupies other countries for decades and changes their cultures beyond repairs. It is parades like this that shows patriotism on people who shows up to see the parade. And it shows how anti-ameican some one can be.
