I definitely think there are too many lawsuits in the world today, but these people deserve to get sued. Having your employer intentionally inflict that kind of emotional trauma on someone is a joke. What if she would have had a heart attack, or decided to fight back against the mock attacker?

A fake theft attempt brought out the fact she was not mentally/emotionally capable of handling the possible real risks in her chosen job. She should be "let go" for that documented inability and she should get a job where they don't have thefts or robberies. She could be an office clerk, for example. But there is no way she should be in pharmacy--she made the WRONG employment choice when she went into a pharmacy job. NO pharmacy is immune to being robbed for drugs.

Offering training on how to handle a situation like this is better than what they did. They deserve to be sued. What they did was not training and was not appropriate.

The employer is woefully short of common sense. What happens if an employee or customer fights back and someone is seriously injured? All for a drill? Gimme a break. The people putting this drill on all deserve to be s___ canned.

Inappropriate hardly describes this situation. The cops should treat this as an actual robbery, because it was. The "mock gunman" and every single person involved needs to go to prison.

You mean they didn't already train her and tell her what to do in what to do in case of a robbery? If they told her nothing, then she is to do nothing--because she can do nothing. That is why she is a clerk/tech--not a manager. She already knew the risks of the job before she considered going into a retail pharmacy and got the training for her (former) job. She won't get another one due to her mental problems.

Ignore "Jerry", he's just a troll.

I don't know if New Jersey allows conceal carry but even if it doesn't, this company is very lucky that this clerk didn't haul out a gun and shoot the "robber".

Or spray him in the face with something and then bash him over the head with a heavy object.

They would have had TWO lawsuits on their hands then. What idiot manager in the company came up with this lame brain idea?

You may be trained by your company not to fight back.....You may be trained to just hand over whatever they ask for.....BUT, there is no training for how to handle a situation where you think if you don't fight back, you are going to die....Your employers instructions to comply aren't worth a damn if you're dead.....And like many posts state, the mock thief is VERY fortunate one of the employees or customers wasn't in a prime location/situation to strike back, fearing for their life and the lives of others.....It's amazing what damage a well-placed fire extinguisher can do to a skull.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Leo

You'll be action-oriented today, Leo. If truth be told, intense physical activity has the ability to soothe you much more than frenzied mental exercise. Invitations to madness are the wrong thing for you, but they are tempting nonetheless. Dig in your heels and do what you know you have to do. When driving this evening, take extra care.
