Thinking about doing some business with this guy. Anybody ever had any dealings with his company? Good? Bad? Neutral?

eh, I've never done business with him but personally, he's sort of a jerk.
Roger Hawkins is who I would choose. |

I don't want to say anything negative about Mr. Farmer, but, I will say something positive about another realtor in town. Roger Hawkins at Hawkins Real Estate Group helped us sell our home and find us a new one in Huntersville. He was so nice and helpful. It truly was like working with a friend although we had never met him before. He was recommended by our pastor in Dallas. Good luck with your choice!

1 Don't be fooled. He's in it for the same reason everyone is in business... to make money. If he were in it as a friend, he'd be called a charity. Just because he is nice when he takes your money doesn't make him your friend. |

All real estate brokers work for money, some do it with class, others with not so much class. Mr. Hawkins is in the former group, Mr. Farmer is in the latter.

1 Call and go meet with Hawkins if you don't belive me. Renee in his office is just as nice. These are good people who don't deserve to be drug through your mud! He showed us at least 15 houses before we bought and never once seemed to mind having to spend his time and gas on us. Then gave each member of my family a gift at closing! Ask Scott and Tina Gardners family what kind of realtor he was for them. Scott was killed in an accident and Tina is in a coma three years later. I was at the estate sell for this home and learned from Tina's family that Roger handled the whole transaction, which included cleaning and moving, not to mention the real estate and would not accept one cent in return! You people don't ever talk about the good things that people do. Please know your facts before you start slamming good people on here. |

Thanks for setting me straight Susan. You are right, perhaps Hawkins left Farmer because he was tired of the shady business dealings of his employer.

First, I'd like to say thank you to Doobie Bro for admitting his mistake like a true gentleman. That impresses me.
Second, I was in school with Roger many years ago but even then he was the nicest guy you could ever meet. He was our student body president and still is the one to get our reunions together. He sat near me in homeroom and German and being another guy who was trying to get the girls attention, I really wanted to dislike him but I couldn't. He had the girlfriend I wanted too! He was and is one of the most genuine people you will meet. I have not had a reason to use a realtor yet, although with this economy I may soon, and I would not hesitate to use Roger. I trust him and know that he would work hard for me. It's an individual choice but for Mt. Holly real estate I would say he is your man. |

1 After reading the posts from all of you that have had a questionable history of know of this creature, I had a moment of bliss. I can only hope that someday, people will notify the NC Board of Realtors about this individual and once and for all prevent him from continuing with his shady dealings. What is so sad, he has the sickening clout to buy his way out of anything...in Gaston County |

Live and Learn
To file a grievance against Scott Farmer Properties or anyother "Farmer", here is a link where you can go and get a form from the NC Real Estate Commission, just cut and paste. http://www.ncrec.state.nc.us/forms/rec401.pdf You are right, they have taken advantage of enough innocent people, mostly the elderly, long enough. Please pass this on to others that you know who have been treated unethically. |
||||
@Farmer: Do you mean taking advantage as in buying a house for themselves that they were asked to sell, renting it for a year and then selling it for 4 times the money? Ethical? you decide. @Hawkins: You hear a lot of gossip in a small town. Some of it rather shocking. |

Carpetbagger,
@Farmer: Do you mean taking advantage as in buying a house for themselves that they were asked to sell, renting it for a year and then selling it for 4 times the money? Ethical? you decide. That's exactly what I am talking about. This guy has no shame, all he is about is the money. What goes around eventually comes around. He might not get his on this earth, but his day is coming. What burns me up is his taking advantage of these elderly people who have trusted him with their most valuable asset. Please tell people not to list with him. Once you sign those papers you are indentured to him. |

Yeah, he got flat rich off my neighbors. He bought their house cheap. They called him to sell it. I'm sure he gave a big story about how he would offer them more than they could get on the market and close quickly. He literally made of 1M on the deal in less than 3 years. I think it should be illegal to rob people like this. I know of not other realtors doing this locally. STEER CLEAR OF THIS GUY! |
