Schools teach white history 8 out of 9 months and you are bouncing off walls in your fit of anger.

It's a great idea to have white history month! I think Ronald Reagan should be first honoree.

Well it has not been one because we were taught in school already how the european white men and english settlers came to another country and stole what didn't belong to them. Plus the white history didn't want racial equality and felt like he/she were more superior than any other race. So I see why whites dont have a month. Quick question though. Why do you need one month when you already have the other 11?

US History is dominated by the white race and many white people are celebrated. The reason for black history month is to provide a small amount of focus on black people and hopefully provide diversity of thought among people.

The public schools include black history in the curriculum...for those of you who paid any attention.
There should not be a month where we are bombarded by blacks on tv. Don't see anyone bragging about what Washington, Jefferson, Henry Ford...ANY white person...did for a month through tv. Is it because you people just don't read or what? Get it like the rest of us did. Education. Show some initiative. You would think you would have bettered yourselves more since the '60s. You're basically too lazy to seize the opportunity and run with it.

Im all for White history month.. maybe someone can tell Obama today, when he is in Mount Holly. One month to celebrate, his mom and Black history month to celebrate his dad.. he may go for it..

People are people no matter the color of the skin they are in. We all have the same opportunities in life at the time of birth, yes there are always factors in life that will hinder people no matter the color of the skin. It is where you take yourself in life that determines how you succeed.
There have been a lot of great people in the past and in the present, does it really matter the color of the skin. Are you less proud of one then the other. I think no one race should have privilege over another, however I do see a trend with black people wanting a lot for their race. Wanting sympathy for actions taken on their race in the past. Well that was given when slavery was abolished, with your given rights to be treated as equals, and live the same life style as any other race, the majority or more of the people in the present day did not have anything to do with slavery. So why is anything owed to the African/American Race anymore since they have all the same rights and privileges as Whites do.
Examples: There are college funds programs out there just for African/Americans...but there is not a all White College Fund Program, that I am aware of, all the college funds whites have available to them are open to all races. There is the Black History month, when the same history is all taught in school. If there was a all whites only school it would be considered racist by the black communities, but yet there are all black schools and nothing is said about it. And as for the rest of the factors that is trying to be added to the African/American race that hinders them, it all what that individual chooses to do with their live. It is not societies problem, we do not make them do illegal actives that cause them to go to jail, we do not make them poor, we do not make them drop out of school. There are poor people all over the world, there are all different races in jail, all different races drop out of school too. IT IS ALL THE INDIVIDUALS CHOICE ON HOW THEY LIVE THEIR LIVES. To say that one race has more choices in their lives is false statement. We have a black president, we have black senators, we have black mayors, we have black business owners, judges, lawyers, actors and actress, millionaires....just as well as White, Chinese, Mexican, British all different races all because they made something of their lives they understood the choice they have been given to them, that is the reason they have that life style. Sad that people with any color of skin blame there way of life on anyone other than themselves.
We should not have to designate one month to celebrate any race. We should always celebrate them equally.That is what the fight was for equality not to be singled out, not to be consider the minority yet it sought after to get attention for a race.
What ever happen to forgive and forget or at least the forgive part.
