Quoting VeniVidiVici (No buy China!!)
"While guns are prohibited by judicial order at the county courthouse here, Thompson said there are no such prohibitions on other county property....
Chaney said her concern on city property, in part, stems from the rash of shooting deaths in Latah County over the past five months. She said the May shooting at the courthouse, which resulted in three deaths - including a Moscow police officer - gave her pause about how vulnerable people are in public settings.
Hmm. The irony force is strong here.
So she wants to ban guns due to a shooting at the only place to have already banned guns."

Sounds to me like the mayor has a guilty conscience!
Why woud she want to seek to ban firearms in her city, just because of a rather unusual incident, if she wasn't up to no good herself?

She sounds like a typical communo-fascist.

Disarm the victims to stop a violent crime spree? Because the bad guys don't mind killing another human being, but they sure won't want break a city ordinance on carrying a firearm, that would just be going too far. Give me a break.
And to answer her question:
"We don't want to tread on anyone's Second Amendment rights," Chaney said. "We want to find out what is within our legal prerogative."
Banning the carry of firearms definately infringes on the second amendment right to bear arms. So there can be no action taken legally.

Same thing we can expect from nearly all politicians: Lies, deceit, and personal agendas. At least that's how it's looks to me...

All the more reason to dispense with elections, and appoint citizens at random to fill one-time appointments to office, just as with jury duty.

Banning weapons on city grounds either open or concealed carry would not prevent anyone from snapping and going on a shooting spree. What a ban like that will do is bring lawsuits on the city for infringing on the rights of citizens of this state and country. I will be the first to contact an attorney.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Leo

You're in a very idealistic mood today, making it almost impossible for you to view loved ones in their true colors. If they've got any faults you won't see them because you'll have blanked them out. This rosy vision of your nearest and dearest is fine if it doesn't last long but it will cause problems if it persists and you continue to brush any problems under the carpet.
