Hey. Just wondering if anyone has any information about family law attornies in/around Knoxville. I need a good one that won't back down...especially concerning a father's rights. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Mindy Norton Seals is in Morristown but I am not sure if she still has her own practice but if she doesn't,I am sure she could recommend someone. She is the juvenile judge here so you could call the juvenile service office.

Attorney Douglas Beier with Evans & Beier. I would recommend him to anyone he helped me get custody of my son he will cost you but it's the best money I ever spent knowing that he is with me.

Judge Seals can not take cases since she is the judge. Schedule consults with several attorneys and explain your situation to them and see what their advice is. Go with the one you feel is going to do the best job for you.

Check out Joanne Sheldon in Newport, very reasonable and a real bulldog when it comes to the best interest of children. She helped my son get full custody of his daughter!! Mindy Norton will judge fairly if it is in Hamblen County.

Not sure if Tom Testerman (Newport) is doing domestic/custody cases or not, but I do know he's intelligent and has the tenacity of a Terrier after a rat.

Don't bank too much on the fairness of juvenile judges. Or most judges, for that matter.

I used him in a case when I was a juvenile, and I don't believe that I came out any better than I would have without an attorney at all. Not saying that he's a bad lawyer, just that in my case I believe that it was a waste of money.

My x cheated on me after 10yrs and i was completely faithful and this is what get for it. i know this dont help but just trying to say i feel what ur going threw

Most attorneys will give a free consultation. That would be what I'd do.I used East Tn. legal services. there are several who specialize in family law. Good luck

Do not use DEWAYNE EVANS. He takes money from sick old people in nursing homes.

Scott Hodge. He is a wonderful lawyer, and very resonable on his price. He doesn't charge and are and a leg. Give him a try.

If my children's father tried to get custody it would be a joke. He beat me up, knocked them around and I'm glad he's gone. If this father doesn't have his children there is more than likely a reason.
He may be wonderful but there is no reason that a good father without a criminal record wouldn't already have some custody of his children.
One BIG BIG reason that some low-life fathers want to have custody of their children is so that their child support can be lowered or got rid of all together.
It's too bad that there are sorry men and WOMEN out there that use their children for financial gain or treat them like material possessions. Wouldn't it be a nice world if BOTH parents wanted the best for their children? If they truly were interested in the child and not themselves?

I don't know why so many people are disagree with me about Scott Hodge. We used him and he was great. My husband had child issues and we got what we asked for because of Scott. The mother fought it, but she lost everytime we went to court. If need be, we would use him again.

I've heard good things about Scott Hodge, overall. Unfortunately, he's young, and in the court system it's often true that age and experience have a decided edge over youth and idealism, that the old badger gets the best of the young dog.
