That was all of us! Who didn't soap the fountain? We soaped the pool at the country club, TPed the Rose Center and the court house. Then did donuts in the mayors front yard. Of course we were stopped and "frisked" while making the loop between Shoneys and Jacks that same Saturday night.

Oh the Blue Circle!!! I have very fond memories of that place. My first date with my husband of 42 years was a hamburger from the Blue Circle. He took me there to meet his friends as apparantly it was his hang out place. They also had good milkshakes and I had to have one every time I went there.

Since I live on Morningside, I have fond memories of Sky City. I did all of my shopping at Sky City. It was great. I also used to shop at Roses Department Store in the Plaza. I used to take my daughter clothes shopping at Three Sisters and Mr. Eiseman's store on Main Street (although the name of it escapes me right now. And my favorite grocery store was the Giant Food Market, but all of my meat came from Buffalo Trail Supermarket.

Anyone remember those blasts from the past?

I remember that one, but I am talking about the shop with ladies clothes. My daughter loved to shop there. For some reason Wise Fashions is jumping out at me. Does anyone remember it?

Morningside Resident - You may be referring to Dawson's Women's Shop. I used to shop there on Main Street when I was a teenager.

Here's a change of pace, but if you are a gear-head like me you will appreciate this one.

Noe's Performance out on N. Liberty Hill Road. He's well known in the Mustang, Cobra, and Lightning circles - and still somehow a bit of a hidden-gem.

He's an excellent late-model Ford mechanic and dyno-tuner. He doesn't have a chassis dyno, but he takes the cars up to Kingsport and tunes there.

A co-worker took his truck to Scott and got 500 rear-wheel horsepower. The best 99-04 SOHC GT I have seen was 712 rwhp. The Cobra numbers go skyward from there.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention Scott's shop.

I remember when I was just a little boy, my mother and I would meet my dad on his lunch break at Sky City and eat the skyburger. Those were great memories. A place I remember going to shop with my dad for his dress clothes was "Rogers" on main street.

Loved Mac's and Three Sister's as I came into my teens but does anyone remember Tot To Teen down on the west end close to the old Alma's location? Now, as a 4th grader and Olivia Newton-John know it all, I think I was PROUD to wear my skin tight satin pants in every color only available at Tot To Teen!(:

Anyone remember the Rickdy Rack Record Shack? I think it was in the downtown mall. Marty's Records ( aka head shop )? It was on the hill to the right of Long John Silvers. What about the Shotgun Arcade next to Bee Gees market. Speaking of Bee Gees, I remeber they sold draft beer by the gallon, bring your own milk jug.

What do kids do now on the weekend? I remember we always cruised Mcdonalds to Twilight Skating Ring and hung out in the Howard Brothers parking lot. After the arcades opened I spent a lot of quaters on the Star Castle game at The Shotgun Arcade.

I have another blast from the past. I was just cleaning my house and dusting my furniture that came from Weesner-Reams Furniture Store on Main Street. Anyone remember it? I also have some things from M&S sales.

My husband just reminded me that he used to get his "ears lowered" at Jim's Barber Shop downtown by Mr. Jim Whitaker. And that he bought my wedding rings from Frierson and Bible Jewelry store, which is no longer open.

There is a lot of great things gone in the name of progress, isn't there?
