I was actually in the Ingles parking lot when this happened, honest to God. There was no McGuffin! It was Scotty Kanipe who owns Millstone, and he was standing outside the car talking to the officer on the scene and he was not drunk. It looked to me like an honest "thought it was in reverse, but it was in drive" situation. And as far as Frank, he got a DUI about 5 or 6 years ago, before he was on the City Council.

It could not have been Scotty-He was in Las Vegas with PJ, Andrew and NateDog gambling with Cole with the money he got from his yard sale.

It was Scotty, I saw him with my own two eyes, and as far as your smart-bahonkie comments about the Cole's yard sale, that's just rude. I don't see anything funny about autistic children...

None of you know what you are talking about on this situation. Please people, mind your own business. And, here we go again, you shouldn't make comments like that. If you have a problem with someone, don't address it behind a computer.

Niece was at Ingles West last week and told me of an old man who jacked up his vehicle by hitting a pole. I wouldn't consider Pat or Frank "old". Maybe it's a different incident but seems like a big quinky dink.

** although, my niece is 20 so the McGuffin boys probably are "old" to her. LOL!

And, Of course they're spoiled. If I had McGuffin's money, I'd probably spoil my babies too. Good thing I'm broke I guess.

If it was one of them....Slow down boys, your not getting any younger.

Some of you who are somewhat of a sports fan might remember football Coach, Johnny Majors. One of the things about Coach Majors that remind me of him when I read some of the posts on this thread is what he use to sometimes say about his star football players on some of the teams he coached as the Head Man. He coached at several schools but was most successful, at UT and the University of Pitt regarding his players getting into trouble, he would sometimes say, "oh, boys will be boys but they wouldn't do anything really bad." I guess "really bad" was in the eyes of Coach Majors himself. I didn't always agree with "John Boy" but I will agree that young men do mature, change and grow up. I DO NOT think something they did a few years back should be held over their heads forever. I have known so many young guys and girls too over the years who were once mean as Hades but who have had a change in their life and they are now model citizens. Unfortunately, there are some people who never forget the little or big things wrong a young person has done at some point in time of their life and will hold it over the person's head until their dying day. There are some who will cast stone after stone without once every giving it a thought about all they may have done wrong themselves. That is just the way life is friends and neighbors and we will have to live with such things. By the way, how many of you remember that Johnny Majors did his Student Teaching experience here in the old Morristown High School? Well, he did. The boys didn't like him because all of the girls liked Johnny and Johnny was very cocky or so they said. So that he would not forget his Morristown experience, someone let the air out of his tires one night. Oh well, boys will be boys it has been said by many.

Johnny Majors whould make a great conversation subject for a new post. So many great stories, about a great coach and should be a lot of interesting first hand information from the older locals. He was an exciting coach and from what I read, is no big fan of the present coach at the University.

This post on the DUI has long ago run it's course, and caused a lot of pain to several people.

Good to see you back Jerry. Did you play for Majors?

I did play for Coach Majors but it was a good while before he became the highly successful coach that he would become. I was a freshman at UT along with two other boys from Morristown, L.T. Helton and Horace Wade when Coach Majors was just starting out as a college coach. In those days freshman did not play varsity ball but had a freshman team that only played three games. The rest of the season was spent practicing against the varsity. Yes, I am tired of reading about the DUI crap too. Bring on Coach Majors. I know there are a lot of Morristown's older than I folks who could tell us a lot of stories about when Coach Majors was teaching at old Morristown High as a college student. Dickie Dukes could probably tell us a few. :-) I do understand there was a place in Bulls Gap some of those guys once liked to go to but I am not sure. I will leave this changing of post up to you bjt. You know all about these things, not I.

My wife, Tina, has been begging me to buy her a blue SUV Infiniti. Now that we may have one in Morristown that is slightly damanaged after a little misfortunate accident in the parking lot of the Ingles westend grocery store and is allegedly owned by a prominent citizen of Morristown, this may be my golden opportunity that I have been waiting for. I am sure that my buddy, Roger Yount, and his fine staff could make that slightly abused Infiniti look and drive as good as new. I would doubt that the owner will want to keep it so maybe, just maybe, I can buy Tina something she as always wanted and then she will appreciate me more.
