Im guessing you know someone in prison. Sorry they are there for a reason and I will gladly foot the bill to keep them away from my children.

This bill is for non violent offenders. You should be worried about state turning sex offenders and murders loose after serving hardly any of their time.

/QUOTE
people that murder, rape, abuse etc...deserve to be there. My dad was trying to make a living and a narc went and told on him! hes 73 and still in prison and hasnt done one thing wrong while being in. If you put yourself in my shoes and was in the boat i was in it would be different...but thats ok everyone entitled to their own opinion.

Some people live in glass houses and have never done anything wrong. Maybe some day some one they know will be in the same boat and some body may throw a stone and bust the glass.

Skru that let the sorry POS do his time he shouldnt have sold drugs and a narc wouldn't have had to snitch on him Don't do the crime if you can't do the time!
This is what is wrong with our society people wasting money on bills and pointless political venture in order to get what they want not what the rest of the country wants.
Hell look at this new health care bill not what people want but the GOVT has done it anyway and it will sink us even further and further more the illegal drug trade is the biggest problem in the country who cares if this person is non violent he still broke the law!!!!!

I apologize for your pain. However, I don't believe inocent people go to jail. No such thing as wrong place wrong time. If you are a law abiding citizen (however screwed up the laws may be) then you will not have trouble. Its very simple.

After years working in the criminal legal system, I can tell you categorically that innocent people DO go to jail.

More empirically, look at the number of death row convictions that are being overturned now that DNA evidence has become dependable.

Plenty of innocent people still go to prison. There isn't always indisputable scientific evidence - there rarely is, actually, and evidence can be manufactured, and is, more than most people would be comfortable realizing, and juries are unpredictable at best, most rule more on emotion and showmanship than on evidence and law (what they understand of it). The public also puts a great deal of pressure on enforcement to put someone in jail for whatever happened, and the public doesn't generally know or care if its the right person or not, just as long as a crime is "solved." DAs don't get reelected if they don't get convictions.
