I would like the citizens of Morristown to know something. This election means millions of dollars to the McGuffins. Why? For one they are going to privatize trash pickup for the entire county. If you think 10.00 per month is bad, just wait until this scumbag gets into office. Are we not sick and tired of living in poverty?
Are we not sick and tired of making the same people more money and more money while the citizens of our great town continue to suffer? Everyone of you should go and register to vote. Let's clean our town up and put an end to these scam artists using our money and our towns power for personal use. Please, I can't stress this enough, please register to vote and vote Danny Thomas. He is our little towns last hope for a new beginning.
Bravo! It's about time someone realized this. The McGuffins are only going to continue to spiral this town into a sh!thole. I've tried to stress this to everyone too many times, but it seems it only falls on deaf ears. Morristown "COULD" actually be something, if people simply WOKE UP and realized that these "good ole' boys" need to go.

1. Danny Thomas has nothing to gain by winning this election.

2. Danny Thomas is a Great Smoky Mountains Park Ranger and makes a decent living doing what he loves to do.

3. Danny Thomas has lived here all of his life and ONLY wants whats best for Morristown.

4. Danny Thomas is highly intelligent and knows how to manage money. He's got a "MASTERS DEGREE" in Organizational Management.

5. Danny Thomas, in my honest opinion, is the only way this town will ever see a new beginning.

Everyone here on topix knows me very well. Many of you will ask yourself, "why does Good Luck give a sh!t about Morristown citizens, when all he does it talk bad about everyone."

Here's your answer. Morristown is home to almost 30,000 people. Regardless of their shortcomings, different ways of doing things, level of education, or other things I poke fun at sometimes. They are still people. I also honestly believe in my heart that the main cause for the "bad aspects" of Morristown is due to the sh!t that runs it. The LAST THING Morristown needs is Frank McGuffin for a fcking Mayor, and if you people don't get off your a$$es, go register to vote, and start weeding this trash out of office, you're only condoning what they do. In my short stay here in Morristown, I've made a few friends. "Natives of Morristown," and I must say, they're some of the best friends I've ever had.

Morristown has huge potential to be something, but it has ZERO chance of becoming anything if YOU/WE don't at least give it a chance. Get your a$$es over to the courthouse, register to vote and vote for Danny Thomas. I firmly believe, especially with how our economy is going that this little town will not last another corrupt Mayor. Good Luck to everyone of you, I mean that.

The problem is that noone has any balls, and will never even care as long as it doesn't affect them directly. The number of voters alone tells you that. The McGuffins and their elite band of morons need to go I agree. The challenge will be convincing everyone else of this, and I'll be shocked if anyone wins anything other than those who have ran this town for decades.
I think this Danny has a good chance though. I think Frank McGuffin underestimated this guy, and is worried now. I know where my vote is going, and it damn sure isn't going to McGuffin. Everyone I talk to about it supports Danny and I hope to God he wins.

McGuffin's daddy has been running the Morristown Utility System effectively behind closed doors despite the fact that it is a public utility under the umbrella of the City of Morristown and should be accessible to be public. The last time I checked their commission meetings took place at a very inconvenient time to ensure that working folk can't attend. The greatest issue on our forseeable horizon will be water quality and the implementation of "smart water" systems. We have no way of knowing whether the MUS commission is on board with the future of our most critically important public resource.

I agree!! Good grief, I have heard they already have a lot of money. What is up with these rich people thinking they can do anything they want and act like they are better than everyone. I am voting for Danny Thomas, he was in a war, and he is republican. That is the kind of person we need running this country and the city!

Do not vote for anyone who already is in office for the city in some capacity. These are the elected officials who are responsible for the traffic scameras. These officials did not respect the wishes of the citizens of Morristown and they do not deserve our vote. Also, Frank McGuffin thinks he is ENTITLED to whatever he wants based on who his family is. I am sick and tired of these "select" few families trying to run Morristown.

The sad truth to this is that Frank McGuffin don't just think it's entitled, he IS entitled because that's just how it's been throughout the history of our town. We need to get his father out of the utility system, and start voting these guys out of here. They aren't any better than anyone of us, they've simply just scammed the system for too long. Your time is up guys, time to move on because we're tired of it.

I don't understand how everyone can get on here and blame everything that is wrong in this town, with Frank. I really got to know him when I was in High School. We had swim practice at the Boys Club after school. I didn't have a car so I walked. I was one of the "rich" kids that everyone talks about. I was just average. I cut through the front parking lot one day when Frank pulled up in his dad's car and said,"Do you need a ride?" I was afraid to get in the car. I was afraid I would get it dirty or something. He said don't worry get in! Frank is one of the nicest, polite, people you have ever met. I don't understand how you can get on here and bad mouth someone because their family has money! Franks mom and dad are very nice people. Just because they have owned their own business since before half of us was born and they have invested and taken care of their money. Frank's mother is a beautiful woman that came from a wonderful family here in town. Frank's father also came from a very good family. I am not a member of the country club. I don't wear designer clothes, drive a new car, or live in a huge house. I'm just an average person who is married to a great man, with two great kids. We do not have money but my kids have met Frank and my parents know his parents. Frank does not treat us any different than he does his other friends. If you want to talk to him call him or send him a message on Facebook. Frank did not create all these problems himself. His father had a great business mind and made sound financial decisions that benefited his family. Frank and his brothers have always worked. They are a good family. And as for the person who keeps coming on here asking about Frank's wife you should stop it. Don't mess with someone's family. Just because Frank has money doesn't mean he is a bad person. I think most people have never met him and don't know anything about him. They just don't like him because he and his family have money. That's just childish. Don't get on here and talk trash about someone you don't know. If you want to know what his beliefs and hie ideas are and what he wants to do as Mayor. Go to the debate. Call him and ask him. Send him a message on Facebook. But leave his family out of it. I don't know if I will vote for Frank for mayor until I hear what he plans to do. If I agree then he has my vote, if I don't then I will vote for the one I agree with. But Frank will always be a friend because he is a good man!

That's great, now you can read this one as well. Your relationship with the McGuffins is irrelevant here. How nice the McGuffins are is also irrelevant, as is who his mother is, sister is, brother is, what church he attends etc.

This is about making a change for the better good of every Hamblen County resident. I believe people are tired of the way your "good ole' boys" have been running this town into the ground. I believe people are sick and tired of their city's money being funneled into your best friends bank account. I believe the citizens of Hamblen County deserve better than that, and I also believe that they've had just about enough of it.

That being said, you run along now to your savior, hold on tight to that job he's given your husband, and put the pom poms down because Frank isn't going to be the next mayor of Morristown.

First of all my Savior is Jesus Christ not Frank McGuffin. Second my husband doesn't work for Frank or anyone else associated with the McGuffins. I just can't believe that the "mess" that this town and it's government is in is all the McGuffins fault. I didn't realize that they control everything and everyone's mind that sits on all these boards. We do need a change but I don't think getting on here and attacking one man and his family will solve the problem. It takes more than one person on the board to get something voted in. You seem to be full of ideas, why don't you run for Mayor?

To "Friend From HS", You are correct, Frank is a good young man, but he would better serve us running for the US Congress. Furthermore, conflicts of interests are tolerated in Washington far more than locally. With all the McGuffin holdings and ties to the local economy, Frank will be blamed for catering to "special interests" whether he does or not. That is unfair to Frank, but is part of the package. The vulgar and shamless attacks on Frank's wife and family are disgraceful. The perpetrator is probably unregistered to vote, and mad at anyone who is wealthy. In that case, he cannot get mad at me. Possibly, this person is just a demonic young Democrat trying to make polite Republicans look rude and stupid. Real Republicans do not campaign in that manner. Now, to issues. Danny Thomas is the most qualified, long term business man, having been successful for over thirty years in business management and ownership. He is a fiscal conservative, strong on planning, tough on spending. The city oould use his philosopy to mend their ways: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and "if you're broke, don't buy it!" We cannot print our own money, we cannot keep raising taxes and we certainly cannot borrow our way out of debt. Elect Danny Thomas Mayor of our great city, while there is still a chance to turn it around. In this race, plus the one for a vacated seat in city council, we have a real threat of money and power controlling our city government. It is imperative that the city voters come to the next "Meet the Candidates" forum. How can you vote for someone you know nothing about? Lastly, if you don't vote, DON'T COMPLAIN!

We are in need of true leadership. I have nothing bad to say about the McGuffin family as residents of our fine city. I do, however, disagree with the liberal positions they have supported over the years and question why such fine, intelligent people could fail to see how government spending and control, both local and federal, is having such a negative impact on our American way of life.

The current council, it seems, has done many things to make it more difficult for the residents of Morristown. Any ordinance which makes it more difficult or more expensive to do business here reduces growth and therefore reduces tax dollars. We have watched as several of these have been implemented and Mr. McGuffin has been a YES vote. Our neighboring cities are passing ordinances to make it easier to do business and are stretching forth open arms to try to assist business growth. I have attended meetings with surrounding city officials who are promoting growth in their city. We must broaden our effort beyond our Chamber of Commerce. I look forward to a public ideas forum after we install a NEW council in May.

Frank McGuffin states he has experience as a leader. He has, in fact held leadership positions. As chairman of the finance committee, he had the opportunity to lead toward reduced spending. I observed his lack of contribution of ideas and lack of leadership toward obtaining ideas from others around the table. His only solution was to find more revenue and to accept the solution on the table to add a garbage fee to our citizens. Many suggestions were made by private citizens as to ways to cut expense but none of these were voiced as options during budget discussions.

We can do better. We must do better if we are going to pull out of the current situation in our city. Elect a leader with true experience who will at least listen to alternative ideas and suggestions.

Let's vote for Danny Thomas and give Frank time to continue to gain additional experience as he works in the family business. Maybe he can grow the business and thereby bring additional jobs to the area.
