Sick of Morristown East Football Losing because of Coaches

Never!! The damage has already been done. Coach Hatcher and crew put it in his head he was a quarterback. Which every other observer with half a brain saw he was a great athelete and a heck of a running back but absolutely NOT a quarterback but again thats getting back to the poor coach with no gauge for talent or at least no ability to play the players in the correct spots to help the team. Heck last year and the year prior half the offense and half the defense they had out of position. Last years team with a true coaching staff would of been at worst 8-2. We were the team and still are that every other coach looks forward to playing because we only run the ball and it is so easy to stop. Wallace is the best option at QB and trained monkey would know that. Thompson will end up just like the Ricker kid, used out of position and cost him a scholarship and instead of being a player to remember he to will be one you try to forget because they hurt the team as a whole.

I see and feel your angst,although I have no child on the ball team,I am just an ex player- a long time ex.. I watch and I see very talented and athletic kids turned to so-so's.. It's mostly due to the lack of confidence that the staff has in their kids and maybe vise-versa too,but the other big concern is kids playing out of position. This just falls in with no confidence and also when the "Bold and the Beautiful" parents say their kids are a QB then they are a QB, none the matter if their great or not.
I am not going to ask what position your child plays but dont ever let him lose his desire for his natural position. Once someone loses that first desire it will always haunt them, trust me I know.. I fell victim to football politics and didnt even have a clue thats what was going on. Keep him positive in what he can achieve not just in football but life too. If you keep him strong and believing in himself even if he never takes a snap in his natural position- then man you have done your job as a father. No one could do any better than that.. Keep his head up and we will see him on Friday.

All I'm gonna say is 4th And 6 and East went into Shotgun which makes it like 4 and 9 now just to run a QB sneak off tackle! u mean to tell me that was the best play they could come up with!!

Everybody seems to be in total agreeance about this entire football coaching thing. We need to ban together before this year is destroyed just like last year was when we had probably the best team in 25 years. If we had of seen a team playing against all those others instead of a one man show it could of been a better year. When those boys was in East Ridge they was the best group and had the best year in East Ridge history, then Hatcher and company moved everybody to different positions and it became a mess. Jody was the only parent that had any input she told everyone she went to coach hatcher and told him how it was and he did what she told him to. We should all do that and not loose this year.

Well from what I have read no one on here is downing your child! If Matt is your child what most of us is saying is that he needs better coaches around him that can help him win and the other kids as well! We all seen last week that the kids are out of position and scared and the Playing and Clock Management was awfu! Matt is a way Better running back/defense player then a QB and thats not saying nothing bad because he is a true football player! But the fact is the coaches he has are not getting it done and he is gonna suffer for it!

So, my question is...Does anybody know if the people that are in position to do something about the coaching issue, are aware that there's an issue and that everybody's upset with Hatcher?

The two QB were in competion for that spot!!! So you r telling me that Matt should have not gotten it!!! Too funny well I will tell you this what position he plays he will give it 100 percent! Regardless of what position a child plays if he earned that spot he just did!! What ever the issues are I wish you all would leave my child out of it!!! Your issues are with the coach not TOPIX!!! To all the coaches thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our kids!!!! Team work on and off the field is a must in order for us to have a successful and fun season!!!! Good luck CANES!!!!!

Yeah.. I really didnt see where anyone wrote anything bad about your son except the false start thing and I only took up for him there.. He is a heck of a talent and I would tell that to anyone. Given the right opportunity he could really go places where the sky is the limit for that young man. While your here let me say.. Not only is he a great athlete(one of the best in recent years) but he is an outstanding young man as well. He deserves better than what he is getting and I believe thats what most everyone else is saying too. I only wish him the best at whatever he does.. Nobody cares just like nobody cares that some of the varsity cheerleaders decided they needed to not once but twice circle west high & flip off the principal. Put them off the squad, they are not showing school spirit if they have to act like that...it not only makes them look bad but the entire cheerleading squad & the school...

No ... If he earned it .. Then he earned it but he should have never been in a battle for it any way! Why have him just hand it off and be out of the play when he could be getting it with a running start and a lead blocker! I've watched your son play since he was little and has always played the game the way it should be played! But I'm sorry if you get mad but their are other kids on that team besides him and he would help the team a whole lot more if they was handing him the ball instead of him handing it off or running a QB sneak! And he should play some D.... All other Big Schools have their Stars playing Both Ways and most of them get to go on to a big schools because it! There is a Great Freshmen team going to be moving up to give Matt some help but if the coaches are still there it will not matter..... Go Canes!!

well ur right about that, the 6 girls that did that were not punished, the squad was talked to by Johnson but no punishment for the girls that behaved so trashy. And yes, the girls were n uniform and Johnson and cheer coaches know exactly who was involved.

Truth is East High under Gary Johnson has never had a desire to win at sports the administration claims they are all about acedemics and East is the school that hinges in that direction. West on the other hand is more about sports and they want to and try to win-totally opposite of the East staff.

Once again there is nothing wrong with him being the QB and it's Great that he goes for what he wants has he should but he is a very smart young man and i bet he already knew from last year that only the QB and full back(sometimes) is going to carry the ball but all I'm saying is If he had a good coach that really knew the Game then he would know Matt's worth and Have him playing Both sides of the ball like these big schools! I bet your son came to you last year saying they won't give him the ball enough or all they Run is QB sneaks and the same thing is gonna happen this year! But when I say I wish your son the Best and I hope to see him on Saturdays I mean that Whole Heartily! Look I am at practice every day and watch every play. We do have great players and talent is there, as for the QB I agree with the other 95% sorry Olivia but you were the one that drug me into this battle of words. Anyone that has ever watched a football that wasn't a retard can see it is just like what they did to Ricker. Out of position and they put us in a spot where we can not win because we are fully predictable. Poor Ricker couldn't throw a football and these other coaches knew it and capitalized on our weakness. Run Run Run he even ran when he was told not to and we lost more than we won. Put Thompson at running back or linebacker and he will get a D-1 offer if left where he is he will fade into a lost memory and never play again just like they did to Ricker cause he wasn't a QB no more than I am a NBA Basketball player-except I would have a better chance. Hatcher postively cost Ricker a good scholarship all he got was a 2 bit secondary partial offer- no one is downing your boy he is the greatest talent on the team I said it-yes he is, but we just witnessed what poor coaching ability will do for a great athelete! Give us someone who can pass/and run and we will win 6 straight because no other team could prepare because they know we hav'nt had a passing game in 3 years. Nothing bad intended just the facts.
