I was just told tonight after this last week of pure hell trying to find a decent doctor that there might b a pain clinic in morristown that might cater to my needs. Here is my story.

Honestly it is very stressfull trying to find somewhere to go. Not every pain clinic is a pill mill.. honesly I think its very hard to find a doctor. My Fiancee has been out of a doctor for over a week now and we have been to 4 different clinics.. 1 i was supposing is a pill mill.. they took his 300 dollars and told him to come back when he didnt have any pain meds in his system.. after having a perscription for them.. New Hope Pain management. She was very disrespectful to his cussing and going on then took 300 dollars and sent him packing. Then we tried one in west knoxville that referred us to ther other clinic in Georgia.. Went to georgia and got turned away because he couldnt get records from the pervious clinic because they got shut down.. then went to chattanooga to a clinic a friend suggested because they were walk in and it wouldnt take very long to get it. Got the friday and they were busy with repeat patients and told us to come back Monday.. Well, we went back Monday, Tuesday, and then again today and they stopped taking new patients today 2 people in front of him in line then told us to come back tomorrow. Since I do not sell MY perscription we do not hve the money to go buy him meds or to keep wasting in gas to drive down there. he has missed work all week because he can't work without his meds. I am over not being able to find a clinic that wont help and all they try to do is take his money and send him packing so they dont have to claim that money. I am not stupid I know thats what alot of these clinics are doing. Tennessee Pain Professionals.. a legit clinic agreed to see him but he has to get a new MRI because his will be 2 years old in OCT. WE again, don't have the money for that. Are there any doctors out there that actually care? Are they all just in it to get money out of people then try not to see them after they have taken the money. I am not a drug dealer I don't have thousands of dollars to spend to find a place to go. I just need a place that will take him and see him that doesn't cost a bunch of money and can get him in quick. No wonder everyone wants to go out of state to doctors.. its so much easier.

So If anyone has any suggestions as to a place he an get into very quick and isn't scared to write the meication he was taking before please have mercy on us and let us know! I would forever be indebted to you!

i know that alot of ppl talk alot of crap about Tenn. Pain Consultants, but they really do take care of their patients. They dont write any higher than Roxicodone, so if he was above that, then their not the way to go, but if he was then go for it. and they will get him in asap. all you can do is try! And they will take an MRI as long as its 5 yrs or less.

He was on 182 oxycodone 30 mg and 120 oxycodone 15 mg with xanax. I know thatits going to be almost impossible to find that at another clinic since he had been goin to the one before for so long they bumped him up every couple of months until he was at what he is now. But Its going to be really hard for him to be cut down drasticlly.. I just dont want to pay alot of money and him only get lke 60 of the 30 or maybe not even that high of a MG. Are we wasting our time with this place at the amount he was getting?

okay, did you try calling them? I know that they will take an MRI if its 5 yrs or less ago., and they only write as high as Roxicodone 30s, i DO know that, and no, im not nor have i ever been a patient there, i just know someone that works there, lol. But i hope this helps! Oh, and they dont do the breakthrough medicine either....its hard to find ANY clinic in Tennessee that does, unless its one of the illegals, haha!

That is just to much pain medicine for anyone! I go to a doc in knox, and have for years. There is no real doc going to give anyone that much medicine here in tn. I am sorry I do know what real pain is, but he can't have that much pain. That is enough to kill a person. Maybe you should be looking into getting him some help.

Well. Fla pain clinics DO hand it out alot more than TN, but i agree that less is better, cause that way you can at least pace yourself on it. no Offense to anyone.. i know that theres alot of ppl out there with VERY chronic pain..and alot of ppl that take advantage of that, and it ruins it for the ones that REALLY need the meds!!:( and to one of the above posters, just b/c someone is prescribed pain meds, does NOT automatically put them in the pillhead category, dont DOG them all, for a few, well ill have to say ALOT LMAO.....of bad apples! I just think that its not nice to treat someone badly if they have chronic pain! REAL pain, you know?
please...

can anyone tell me how to get a copy of your xrays from a former clinic? dont they have to give you a copy by law? can you go in and sign a release form or something? new clinics wont request them, they want you to bring them in.

That's an enormous dose of pain mess. I don't mean that negatively. The md shouldn't have gotten him to that point. The body becomes immune to the mess and dosages have to be increased i know, but at some point his heart is going to give out with all of those meds on board. Seriously, excercise, stretching, and strength teaing actually does help to decrease pain after a while. Has he tried physical therapy? Long term narcotic use enlarges the heart and hardens veins and arteries. I personally have rods and screws in a few different areas of my body, and have arthritis at the age of 35. There are days when i have pain so excruciating that i want to just cry. So, i don't lay on the couch or in the bed, i get up, stretch, do some exercise and take 800mg of ibuprofen. No, pain doesn't go completely away, but i am able to do all daily activities and work full time without taking anything stronger. The negative effects of narcotic use, to me, outway a little daily pain. Please don't think I'm criticising because I'm not. But, an option for your husband may be to get completely off of the narcotics and try some physical therapy. I know for a fact that it really does help. It will seem almost unbearable at first, but it will keep him healthier in the long term. And, he won't have near ad many doctors to deal with and these issues with pain clinics. I sincerely hope that he can find some help with his pain.
