I am not sure what RN's make in a Dr. Office but I cant think that it wud be a whole lot. The others mentioned are about right. I work home health 3 days one week 4 the next and I will make about 38,000 by the end of the year. Good luck to you :)

I was told that nurses (RN's) could expect to make around 60,000 or more a year! Is that not true?

I will gross that with 10 hours a week overtime, but overtime is not steady.

I guess it would be based on what speciality you went into and what demographic area you live in like RN Nurse said overtime is not a given and some weeks you fall up short.

I'm trying to decide which area of health care I can make the most money at. I'm a single mom and need the money to care for my children. So what "kind" does that make me? I like health care in general but need some direction on where I can get the most bang for my buck.

ppl on here usually don't offend me, but u've truly ticked me off... how dare you imply myself or any other nurse on here don't care for our pts just because we wanna make good money doing it!(good)nurses work their butts off! just because we're caregivers we shouldn't want to make the best we can to provide for our families??? REALLY???? are you even a nurse??? if so and if you've been doing it longer than your 1-3 yrs then i'm very surprised, cause i know your self-righteous, know-it-all kind too!!!!!!!! can i get an amen my fellow nurses?????????

just ignore her meshie! that person has NO clue what they're talking about... probably in reality a nursing school flunk out with a bitter tongue! i'm in the same boat as u. a single mom doing the best i can. to be of some help to u... home health seems to be were the money is at right nw and it's WONDRFUL the pts are awesome! you'll look forward to seeing them! if you like hospital work, lakeway pays good if you don't want to drive to knoxville. as for me i work 3 - 4 days a wk with home health and prn at a hospital in knoxville, usually pick up a shift per pay period. hope this helps and good luck!

I completely agree. I just applied for nursing school and yes pay is a factor. I want to be able to provide for my family. Wanting to make money doesn't make anyone a bad person. No one works for free.

There are many things all of us might like to do, and parts of the job which are not as appealing. But haven't men always sought out companies or self-employment vocations where the compensation is reasonable ? Most jobs do require dedicated commitment to details, team attitudes, honesty and good interpersonal skills. Although these attributes are clearly required in nursing, they certainly help in any job. Ladies, it's okay to get reasonable compensation for your work ! In some communities it is "gauche" or tacky to speak about salaries-- but let's go for reality-- do what men have done for centuries ! Keep fine-tuning all of your skills, learn from your co-workers, read about new approaches and new medical findings to make you a valuable employee !
