How were you run off? I've heard different stories about lights & sirens and gunshots if you look around. I realize it is private property. Are these stories true? Do you know? I love the history of Pressmen's Home. It was a paradise in it's day.

There was a guy living there, he was tired of people always trespassing so he started shooting his gun in the air to scare them off...there used to be some old military vehicles there when we used to go about 6 or 7 years ago...we went by one time and the cops had some people pulled over and the guy was standing there with them...haven't been in a while though so I'm not sure anymore. The old barn/storage shed when you go in on the right had some old farm equipment and golf course maintenance equipment in it.

Pressman's home was Pressman's Home was established in Tennessee as the headquarters for the International Printing Pressman and Assistants Union of North America in 1911 by George L. Berry. The union provided a Trade School, as well as a vacation spot, TB hospital and retirement home for union members. The unoun moved headquarters to Washington DC in 1969 and Pressmen's Home was closed . I have been all over the property, bet time to go is at night. But in the church, there is a huge hole as soon as you walk in, so be very careful if you walk in. In big building, that people say was the hospital, the bottom floor is flooded. I have video, we went in at night because we always heard that it was haunted. When you go down the road to Pressman's home, there is a road to the left and one to the right that goes behind the facility, the one to the right is where the man that chases you out lives. The one to the left, if you follow it, there is an old house back there. Across the street from Pressman's the other old looking building was the school.

The last time I went to Pressmen's Home was in '98. I have also went into all of the buildings and all around the grounds. Things have changed now, You will not get by the guard dogs or the people who now live on the grounds. Some of the buildings are now gone due to fire.

That is about the time we went on the grounds at night. Do they have a fence around it or just the guard dog chained around the entry? I was in my early 20's when we went out there checking it out. But it was like at Midnight,we had a video and flashlight, and we parked at the road next to the ponds and walked down.

also. the video includes footage of the hotel that is no longer there. The video also includes footage of Rogersville and some of the historical landmarks there. watch the video all the way thru, the Pressmans Home stuff is towards the middle of the video. Please overlook the shotty and cheap editing... I was just getting into videotaping, so there are some silly looking jump cuts... LOL!

Hey there everyone.. Interesting website… I have been to Pressman's Home many, many times.. I have even been in the buildings back in 1993,1994… I took a girlfriend of mine inside the trade building and all around the other buildings.. We even went inside the church.. We were on the property for nearly 2 hours.. I videotaped every bit of it.. We went all the way up to the top floor of the trade building. It was an awesome place. We never encountered anyone at all back then.. There weren't any No Tresspassing signs or anything.. Nothing..We just walked in during the middle of the day, right off of the highway. The place is still a beautiful place… I still go through there at times.. Also, my video has footage of the old hotel that burned down… The trade building was still a very solid building back then… I can remember one of the floors having about 1 ft of water standing in the floor.. The church was once beautiful… One could still see all of the art paintings on the ceiling.. the angels were beautiful.. Anyway, the top floor of the trade building appeared to be a ballroom of some sorts.. it had a huge stage for plays or any other kind of entertainment… Anyway, I have posted my video of Pressman's Home on youtube if any of you are interested… Keep in mind, this video was filmed in 1994.. Also, the original video is better quality than what is shown online due to the video being downsized for internet transmission.. Also, be sure to let me know what you think… Oh , and if anyone would like to purchase a copy of the video, let mw know… Also, the audio track that accompanies the video is royalty free music and is perfectly legal to use for the video.. also, when you go to youtube.. just search for Pressman's Home… I appreciate this website… it was very nice.. Thanks!
