This is happening all over the country. Go to www.schoolteachernews.com and click on the Scandal page. This year they have documented over 210 of these types of incidents. In 2008 they found 478 of these kinds of cases.

WTF. Seriously he admitted doing that and he has a bond of $27K??? Multiple incidents. He is not young and I bet he has touched tons of children. Should be NO bond. What is wrong with people? They are kids! I hope he gets touched harder than they did, in jail.

I don't think you're asking as the result of any real definitive study that indicates that, but IF it is true, I might suggest that the arts attract a higher percentage of people with, shall we say, unconventional sexual urges, and athletics offers plenty of potentially arousing situations (partial nudity, bodies on display, an emphasis on the body, hands-on training, changing of clothes, etc.).
But as I said, pending any evidence to the contrary, I doubt that music and athletics teachers are "the worst offenders" to any statistically significant degree.

If my 7 nor 8 year old daughter was taking piano lessons from this guy or any guy, my wife or I would be sitting in the room.

Are you kidding me?

These parents don't have an hour?

Well I tip my hat to the officers who got him to talk. It was the word of a teacher against the word of a couple of confused kids. Had he kept quiet he would have totally gotten away with it.

Nice detective work.

Gosh, I'm sure sorry my children missed out on the public school experience.

Never a dull moment... But at least they let me help pay for this circus via property taxes.

For most parents, it's an either/or - either spend time with their kids, OR dump them off at a variety of activities that have become de facto babysitters.

Thre seems to be a run on child molesters this week. Why don't we round them up for a mass "discussion".

I'm over these freaks.

How do people get jobs in schools? Isn't there some test we can give that determines if someone is likely to commit such crimes? I don't care if it violates their rights. I think we need to demand our children be protected properly.

Hello, moron. This article says that this happened in school not at the man's house for private lessons. Don't attack the parents. What are they supposed to do quit their job's and stand next to their children all day? Get a clue.

If you're saying that perv's are drawn to the arts, I can see that to some degree. If you're saying that anyone who is into the arts is a perv on some level at least, I'd have to say you are dead wrong.
