My daughter was placed in a Foster Home and she was not taken care of while she was in custody either she was 3 weeks old her dad stated that she rolled off of an attomen and fractured her arm I was not even home at the time she was taken away the home she was put in was not a clean enviroment they smoked and drank around my child I did not smoke in my home to this day she has asthma problems severe her teeth was rotted and decade when she returned to my home her eyes very dark around them she looked malnurished there is a huge problem with Dhs foster homes I have seen this first hand I feel like the foster parents just do it for the extra money and foodstamps and benefits they receive.

Also speaking out about do you think dhs just looks for kids to take out of homes And I say yes they do! My daughters Grandparents adopted to kids from the system and was a 1st grade school teacher but she was not fit enough to watch her grandaughter they felt she was better with the foster parents her grandparents is the nicest kindest christian people I know and are wonderful with children it was like dhs wanted her in the system she had more than enough family that would of took good care of her dhs chose to leave her in a foster home because the foster parents wanted to adopt her this was from the first day they saw my baby girl so yes i do feel like dhs preys on certain families and takes there kids i had to fight them in the supreme court it took me FIVE YEARS TO hear back five years later I won my case they overturned everything dhs had done to me and my little girl to this day i dont have justice no one was punished or lost there jobs but i lost all the sweet moments of my little girls life from 3weeks old to 5 years old for nothing absoultly nothing! i think dhs should be punished for what they put these little kids through they have messed up more kids than they have helped I know that for a fact my daughter still having problems not from me but what dhs put her through the mistreatment from the dhs she was in a home that smoked around her she has severe asthma her teet was rotted so bad when i got her back and took her to denist it was horrible this was done while in dhs custody

Kendra, This is a very sad story indeed. I am sorry you didn't have every moment with your daughter. The system isn't working, but I don't know the answer. I hope this new story is just a terrible accident and nothing malicious. Good luck to you and your family. I hope you can spend the rest of your life enjoying it all with your daughter.

It wasn't DHS who removed her from the home, it wa the Indian Child Welfare system.

No matter who removed this child its terrible that her life was taken. We reside in a society where life is worthless and the political thugs are protected by the political people in power. There is no justice only those that pretend to protect.

I DID NOT KNOW KYRA BUT I HEARD ALOT ABOUT HER. I KNOW HER PARENTS LOVED HER VERY MUCH. I HEARD HER FIRST FOSTER PARENT DIDNT TAKE GOOD CARE OF HER AND THAN THEY WANTED TO TAKE HER NEW BORN SISTER (WHICH SHE GOT) AWAY FROM THE PARENTS IN THE HOSPITAL. WHICH THAT WAS WRONG. I THINK THEY SHOULD OF DID A BETTER WALK THROUGH OF THE FOSTER PARENTS HOUSE.. DHS THINK THEY ARE DOING SO GOOD AND MAKING ALL THE RIGHT CHOICES. WHEN THERE ARE MORE KIDS HURT, KILLED, BEATING IN FOSTER CARE THAN THEY ARE WITH THEIR OWN PARENTS. DHS SHOULD BE IN TROUBLE. KYRAS PARENTS WAS TRYING THEIR HARDEST TO GET HEAVEN AND KYRA BACK BUT DHS THOUGHT THEY WASNT TRYING HARD ENOUGH I GUESS.. I THINK NOW THAT KYRA DIED IN FOSTER CARE THAT THEY SHOULD GIVE LIL HEAVEN BACK.

I know for a fact that DHS and Triba follow the same guidelines as far as removing a child and placing one. I am a foster parent. They have checked my home, ran background checks, fingerprints, made sure my own adopted child was taken care of. Update records, dogs up to date on shots as well. You can not blame DHS or Tribal for things that go wrong. Things happen and they have to investigate, Yes a little one died but that does not mean the foster parent is bad, DHS, nor Tribal.

Yet another devastating blow to an innocent child . A life that will never be fullfilled . She will never grow up to see the wonders of the world . To share the love she had in that big heart of hers due to the cruelty ond selfishness of adults . God have mercy on their souls if they have one . The foster care system , both Tribal and State fails the innocent !!!!!!

I know Kyras parents they are loving and caring. They love their little girls so much. And for you people to say anything bad about them or towards them is you people being judgemental. Can we focus on the issue here? They lost their little girl. She would of been just fine with her biological parents. And you keep saying o its not dhs is fault well kinda it is.this kinda thing has happened before.kyra was a good little girl and she didnt get to live a full life.its unfair.regardless of whos fault it is her family deserves justice..her biological parents would of been the best place for her to be.what cause they made one mistake their rights should be taken?i think not.

Poor little lamb, she never had a chance...
Her biological families and both foster families failed her miserably.
If biological families would take responsibility for their children, there would be no need for foster families in the first place.
Straighten up, sober up, and do YOUR job as parents!

If you read the story, youd have seen that the kid had been scalded when she was 11 weeks old, the father plead guilty. Yup, take her away from that forever from that POS.

The only person that should be dead, is the father that abused her, and the mother being the one being arrested. Any mother that would sit back and allow her child be abused by a man, and let her child be removed from her care, and not take action is pathetic. I moved heaven and earth to get my son away from his abusive father, anybody can do it, no excuses. I would have gotten a divorce yesterday, if my spouse was ever accused of hurting my child, anything to keep my child with me. I really don't like hearing about how her biological parents really cared for her, way, way too late. Now the lowlifes with get an equally lowlife attorney and profit from their misdeeds on this child. That would make two things you will have to answer for in the end.
just another opinion

Okay, please go back and reread your post. You are saying that the "first foster parent didn't take good care of her and they wanted to take her newborn sister." Have you ever heard of a situation where a foster mother decided to take a child and place them in DHS or tribal custody? The foster mother had no decision whether the second child should go into custody. The parents and their actions is what caused both children to be in foster care. Obviously, the state, DHS, or the tribe decided they were unfit to bring the second child home, as well. You sound completely ignorant and should think before you talk.
