1 dead in shooting near Savannah jail

i knew charley he was a great guy it is sad to see a good man shoot by his boss for no good reason . i just think savannah pd needs to get to the bottom of things and solve these problems for all the people who are hurt there and get to the truth of all the things that go on there.solve the problems dont side step ALEX

My sympathy goes to Charlies wife Leeann and his Family.
I only hope that Ken Qualls does not get away with another murder. He got away scott free with the first shooting.
Qualls thinks he is a bigshot in this town and thinks he can get away with everything, I hope not this time) the bastard needs to be executed. He had no reason or right to kill Charlie.

Ken Qualls needs to pay for the torture he has put our entire family through. He should have hell on earth now and in his afterlive! No one can take back what has been done to Lee or Charlie. Lee has lost her husband and her everything. Charlie was her life and our family is completely devistated at the unfortunate loss of our family member. Charlie was a great husband and friend to everyone. This family or his friends will not rest until Ken pays for this with his life. Law enforcement should make an example of him and have him be punished for the way the has done Charlie and the other unfortunate person before. People shouldnt be allowed to just walk around killing people and get away with it. We lost a person very dear to us for a pathetic argument over $80!!!! Charlie was worth sooooo much more to everyone that knew him. Try explaining to his wife that everything is ok! its not and never will be for her or our family. WE WANT KIN TO PAY FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE TO CHARLIE, LEE, AND THE ENTIRE FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT KNEW HIM.

Why doesn't someone have the balls to tell the truth about "Charlie"? He was NO angel regardless of what some people thought.$80 you say? What about the theft they were arguing about? Crime is crime, whether it's $1 or $1 million. Get real!

I don't see anywhere where Charlie's real character is revealed. Like the times he threatened a man & child that he would "blow their head off" because of a rumor he had heard. Does that sound like a "nice guy" to you?

You only see the public persona that people want to show. There's no way for you to know what's inside the heart of a person.

What about Ken? He always seemed like a pretty nice guy too. My parents, family, even myself have bought things from their store in the past.I'm sure Kens family is suffering also knowing that his life too is pretty much over now.

This is sad that this had to happen. Charlie was a good person. No one has the right to take another one's life.
I think Ken should have to answer for everything hes done, And yeah , I think his wife should take out a law suit against him, and get what ever she can. No this wont bring Charlie back but, it would show ken . That he cant do just what ever he please's. And think about his wife and family, what they must be going through. All my sympathy goes out to Charlie's family & friends.

My advice to DEAD MAN WALKING. Take your own advice Judge NOT, lest be judged. The last thing this grieving family needs to hear is negativity from you. Regardless, of what Charlie may have done in the past many people loved him... faults and all, because that's what families do.

I knew Charlie when he was young...I remember how in second grade that his parents were called to the school because he kept trying to pull his fellow classmates pants down so he could see their genitals. And that's just the start! So I love reading about this sainthood that everyone has declared him to have.

So that shows he too was capable of doing to someone else what Ken Qualls did to him. My understanding is that both of them did drugs & drank so neither one is better than the other!

For starters, nobody here said he needed to die, I just said he was a piece of trash like the rest of his family. How do I know this? Because he's my half brother. I am one of those kids he tried to "touch" but he got caught before he could. He also has a sister who is missing whom he was suspected of doing the same thing the entire time she was growing up that wasn't 20 years ago. I wear a scar on the side of my head to this day where Paulette tried to kill me when I was 4 months old so spare me your ramblings about the grief this family is going through. Knowing them they are putting on some front just to try and collect insurance money from his death.

I sort of knew Paulette many years ago when she worked at a local "truck stop" where skanks hung out. It's no wonder her kids turned out like they did with her as an example to them. Back then she was dating a married man right in front of everyone in town & we all knew. She flaunted it in public & didn't give a crap who saw them together.

I've seen her so lit she could barely walk and what is it with Paulette now writing all those letters to the editor of the local paper about the drug dealers & her missing daughter? When you run with a pack like that you should expect whatever comes your way.

Her daughter was no saint either, a known thief & drug user and since she left with her boyfriend it sounds like a typical teen running away from home & a parent who didn't give a rats ass about any of her children. I hope her girl is in a happier place than what she had to live in at home.

You reap what you sow. Karma and all that stuff too. Maybe they need to be thinking about how they lived their lives and treated and continue to treat others before they start telling people what angels they are & how corrupt everyone else in this town is.
Look into a mirror once in a while and then ask yourself if you did right by your kids before you start accusing everyone else of ruining their lives. Looks like you managed to mess up the kids long before any of this went down.

i knew both guys all my life. Both had good and bad points. I think the world of ken, and charlie and me had a lot of respect for each other. But I do know this, Charlie and his wife stole money from someone that im really close too and i do know that both dealed with drugs. So all it boils down to is a deal gone bad. I do feel bad for charlies family, just like they found out that his wife just got pregnant, but everyone needs to stop bad mouthing both sides and let it be. The truth will prob never be known.

Then we need to pray for the child...it's the only innocent party in this entire mess
