Is it true that McAfee and the board are giving a bonus to rohrbaugh while also firing employees and possibly raising taxes.

It is true that the BOE still pays Rebecca W and she does nothing but talk on her personal cell phone. Concerned Taxpayer wrote: Is it true that McAfee and the board are giving a bonus to rohrbaugh while also firing employees and possibly raising taxes.

Has anyone heard that 21st Century will be canceled? This is very distressing to me, to say the least.

I do not think so because where will all the kids go who need a babysitter go. Plus one of the relatives will be out of a job.. just do not see that happening. Nope

Yes, unfortunately the grant money has run out for 21st Century. The hope was that the fees the school was collecting would be enough to make it self supporting next year. Apparently, this plan did not work out. So no 21st Century next year.

There will be many familes devestated not to have the 21 Century Program. Just for the record - I am not one it will bother one way or the other. We do not use it.

This summer marks the END of 21st Century. Believe it. And yes, Ed and Lewis are hot on the trail of padding their pockets any way possible.

My husband and I recently bought a few rods, a tackle box and such and want to begin fishing as a relaxing hobby (besides, I LOVE FISH, bonus!). Can anyone give me advice about what bait works well in Blairsville and what fishing spots are good? Also, what fish (I know of the trout)can I expect to catch? Any advice would be so appreciated. We all need a little relaxation in these nutty times!

Nope it is not a joke, I know that there will be no 21st Century Program next year. I think it is awful that the school has not made this important information public. This is going to be a horrible thing for many of us parents who need this program.

Linda Nelson is wondferful and the kids love her. The only problem i see with it is that some parents don't have $25.00 a week, or $100.00 a month to send their child to an afterschool program. The economy is tight right now. People barely have money for necisities. 21st century was a great option for those who were on a limited income and it is a great program. Maybe they can work something out with Ms. Nelson to help those who can't pay? Anyways, this is another SAD thing that has happened since McAfee was come into office as superintendant. The other is the AB scheduling which is going to bring our kids to a new level of failure. Very sad but true.

Parents need to talk to the boe as there needs to be a accounting of where all the school funding goes thats awarded by paris by us tax payers.seems that there is money to be spent on buying land to add a football field and art complex at the high school but yet my daughter tells me they share text books at the high school my god I chocked on that one.my daughter also attended 21st century when she was in middle school and it's just not baby sitting the kids learn constructive material and get one on one help with the home work they don't quite understand how to apply themselves.again it's small town politics with family who all have a hold on what happens here and you have no voice just pay your tax and shut up.

The SPLOSH funds for the school have to be spent on the projects that were listed. They can't be used for other things.

The first person, the ex-super's daughter, ran the program well because there was money on hand. The money has now gone south which is sort of surprising. I would think that since this school is a Title I school it would have qualified for all sorts of the stimulus money if no grants had been bestowed. I agree that it is a wonderful program and a life-saver for parents who work.
