Only thing I have to say on this matter: I have seen our UC dog warden tase a dog. Yes, I thought that was absurd. This was a dog that is known to get out, run the neighborhood, and growl when cornered but it has NEVER hurt anyone and I am not afraid of it. I do not understand what kind of man thinks tasing a dog is OK, especially when his job is supposed to be a dog warden so he should not feel threatened by dogs. And I have also seen our dog warden intentionally target some dogs and let others be. An example: when we lived in town I had a dog that was NEVER on a leash, chased trucks downn the road, used to go to McDonald's and get cheeseburgers out of the drive thru window and the dog catcher said something 1 time. This dog was HUGE but as friendly as I have ever seen a dog be. After we let the warden know we weren't tolerating his nonsense he left that dog alone. But the same dog catcher I have seen repeatedly go after the dog I spoke of earlier and I think sometimes it is just due to a lack of nothing better to do. In summary, we need a new dog warden. And one that actually likes anumals.
your right the dog warden has been told my the judge to leave certain dogs alone especially if they are his friends dogs the warden does what he's told you need to look higher up

Obviously you've not read my posts and this thread is personal to you. I have stated facts, asked questions, made an observation and stated opinion.

You, on the other hand have made it perfectly clear you are close to this situation and on the side of the officer and warden. You clearly need some education on how animals should be treated.

I went back and read all your comments. I stand by my opinion, your a moron.

Thanks for all of the one who supported me. As for the others, there are only 3 people who need to know the complete truth. That is the dog warden, the dog owner and me and we all 3 do know. For all other who were not there and who formed their own opinion. Keep them to yourself because no one cares. For those who want to know I have spoken to the dog owner on several occasions and that conversation will remain between us unless they tell it.

But it's Union County! We citizens are just expected to zip our mouths and never question those in authority! Glad to see Officer Perry had time to post on Topix. Guess his incident report is finally complete! I can't wait to read it!

Maybe you need to know the facts before you call people idiots!!
The only reason any dog should be shot is if the dog is attacking someone and can not be secured in any other manner. They used excessive force in this situation! The report says the dog lunged at the dog warden and was then shot....pretty sure any dog that has been chased, cornered and is scared would lunge at its attackers. That is the dogs instinct! I don't care what kind of dog it was! Dogs don't just bite because they are mean! People like you who say "Oh it was part pit" obviously have never been around a pit. I won't waste my time arguing with an idiot about pits. My 10 pound min pin is meaner than any pit I've ever been around! I wonder why no one will tell the owner who the officer was that shot the dog. She has been told 3 different stories about what supposedly happened. The dog warden is a joke. He's been in trouble for this type of behavior in the past. I promise you this won't just be hushed up! I'm just glad that the little girl who loved this dog is too young to understand what happened!
What lunging isn't attacking?? Guess the dog was going to lunge forward and hug the dog warden. I think they both did the right thing. But that's my opinion

I agree dr wife is right! I too know the dog catcher does not need the job he has, he needs a different one. He does not handle things correctly.

But she would rather be known as the Dr's wife. That has so much more status.

Maybe you should spay your cat...Or talk to your neighbor about their dog killing your cats. This dog didn't kill anything! It "growled" at the dog catcher! I agree, dogs need to be under control. But, even my house dog escapes sometimes. They didn't make an effort to restrain this animal properly. It was hot, and just easier to pop a cap in the dog than to catch her and take her to the pound. The dog catcher has a very nasty history of being cruel and inhumane with animals!
The Dog didnt just growl,it was trying to attack them.i was there seen everything the it was a dog not a puppy.they tried everything to catch the dog.the dog didnt want to be caught and you just cant leave a vicious dog running at large what happe left the dog alone and it went on and killed a kid, then everyone would be mad at the cops and dog warden for not doing thier jobs in the first place.if you wasnt there and dont know the real truth please ask dont judge.
