Union County Dog Warden and Morganfield Police Officer Shot Unarmed Puppy !!!

Only thing I have to say on this matter: I have seen our UC dog warden tase a dog. Yes, I thought that was absurd. This was a dog that is known to get out, run the neighborhood, and growl when cornered but it has NEVER hurt anyone and I am not afraid of it. I do not understand what kind of man thinks tasing a dog is OK, especially when his job is supposed to be a dog warden so he should not feel threatened by dogs. And I have also seen our dog warden intentionally target some dogs and let others be. An example: when we lived in town I had a dog that was NEVER on a leash, chased trucks downn the road, used to go to McDonald's and get cheeseburgers out of the drive thru window and the dog catcher said something 1 time. This dog was HUGE but as friendly as I have ever seen a dog be. After we let the warden know we weren't tolerating his nonsense he left that dog alone. But the same dog catcher I have seen repeatedly go after the dog I spoke of earlier and I think sometimes it is just due to a lack of nothing better to do. In summary, we need a new dog warden. And one that actually likes anumals.

The only reason any dog should be shot is if the dog is attacking someone and can not be secured in any other manner. They used excessive force in this situation! The report says the dog lunged at the dog warden and was then shot....pretty sure any dog that has been chased, cornered and is scared would lunge at its attackers. That is the dogs instinct! I don't care what kind of dog it was! Dogs don't just bite because they are mean! People like you who say "Oh it was part pit" obviously have never been around a pit. I won't waste my time arguing with an idiot about pits. My 10 pound min pin is meaner than any pit I've ever been around! I wonder why no one will tell the owner who the officer was that shot the dog. She has been told 3 different stories about what supposedly happened. The dog warden is a joke. He's been in trouble for this type of behavior in the past. I promise you this won't just be hushed up! I'm just glad that the little girl who loved this dog is too young to understand what happened!

But, even my house dog escapes sometimes. They didn't make an effort to restrain this animal properly. It was hot, and just easier to pop a cap in the dog than to catch her and take her to the pound.
