I am aware of the Rowan County Christmas, But how about The Families that just barely go over the cash amount allowed for their income. I know of a family that made $11.00 to much last year and didn't qualify. These people have 5 Children. Are there currently any programs for those families and their children? I would appreciate your comments. Thank You

you may check with the income guidelines, i believe that they have been increased a bit since last year. You can always check at CSS for any other programs. do they qualify for food stamps, etc? I don['t want to breach anyones confidental information on here, but if they call the center, they may be able to get some info.

Is everyone always looking for a handout, help, assistance? A family with 5 children is too many, yet these same people continue to have more. Get another job, get a second job or a third. Dont rely on taxpayers for every handout you think you deserve.

i agree. i have 2 friends, a man and woman. they both make good money,(60,000) combined. they live together and have 2 kids. they won't get married because she gets help from the government to pay for daycare and maybe food stamps or wic i'm not sure. they are complaining about not getting enough help! she claims them on her taxes and gets back good money. they have a boat, 2 vehicles, eat at expensive resturants, have nice clothes, etc. when they are not working on the weekends they put the kids off on grandma and grandpa to watch while they have a good time.

The government should hand out condoms instead of checks, food stamps, and free health care...

u know what everybody in this world is not like that i do get foodstamps and i do get a medical card for my child. And when she was younger till she got five i did get wic too.. but let me tell you something i do need this help.. I am glad and i feel lucky to get this help.. I do work my husband is drawing unemployment and it takes everything we have just to pay the bills most of the time and thankful for my family and his because if it wasnt for them then we wouldnt be able to do anything else but pay the bills before anyone goes running their mouth they need to think about what they are saying they do not know everyones situation.....and by the way i would love to have as many kids as god would let me not for the benefits but just because i love kids.....

For all of you that have made nasty mean comments, First off you don't even know these people. they both work and DO NOT RECIEVE government assistance. They weren't asking for the help I just thought it would be wonderful to know that their Children had a wonderful Christmas Holiday. Thats why I thought i would just post on here to see if there was a # that i could call for them. But never mind, Those of you that could and would deprive a child from a gift during the holidays obviously don't know the meaning of kindness. You must not have a heart. I will noe exchange alot of ill or nasty words with you . So you need not even reply back with negative comments. I'll just wish you a Merry Christmas , and a safe and prosperous New Year.
