I just got a paper in the mail that says water prices are going up for Mooresburg. What??? As crappy as our service is and they are going to charge more?? They are always cutting the water off to work on the lines. At least one time a week I am without water the whole day. What is the problem??? Is anyone else sick of this?

Amen to that!! I actually wouldn't complain so much about the price if the service was better. And come on...a water office that is only open 4 HOURS a week?? Please.

I do the maintenace for Mooresburg Utilities. The reason for the water being off is cause of lines breaking. Because of poor installation of the lines. I repair lines as quick as possible and have water off as little time as possible. Sorry for your inconvenience!!!!

The biggest problem is the line breaks, they drive around all day looking for it and water will be running across the road, someone finaly tells them, its dug up stuck a clamp over and burried back. A week or two later it breaks a couple foot from where its clamped, and they do it all over again. When they finaly get someone like Smith's to come fix it they dig up like 60 feet of it and replace it, then no more leaks. By this time the tank is dry and the waters coming from morristown, which costs more. It needs new people over it and someone that knows what they are doing when they fix a leak..
wonder why

Whoever (Mike Smith maybe but i don't know for sure) put the line in past the bridge used their own inspection person. When water runs through a pipe it moves some, and if the line is laying on a big rock it will eventually cause it to break. If you put gravel on top of the rock it they will give and not cause a leak. Evidently when they came to a rock they just laid the line down and went on. Now there is leaks all the time. Possibly the main problem now though is a leak under the lake. The state wouldn't let them hang the line on the bridge so they had to go under the lake. But they don't know how to find out for sure. They have a cutoff on both sides, they could try cut them off, check the pressure, then turn it back on, on the side at mooresburg springs road and see if the pressure drops, and they might can tell but not sure.. They need someone who atleast cares enough to try and see if that will work.. As far as how Smiths (Johnny Smith) fixes them not really sure, just know that evening it was leaking down around the big curve there at helton ln it looked like they had dug up at least 60 feet of it and replaced. Seems like it worked. Everytime they fix one their selves within a week or two their digging it back up..

Terry, sounds like you know a lot about water lines, maybe you should get you a machine and start repairing lines yourself, since no one else knowes any thing about it,maybe you could solve all the problems and send larry cook and jim rhea home.

It all falls back to the old addage you get what you pay for they put junky lines in. I am sure they went with the cheapest estimate plus the kickback that went in their pocket and I bet they never have leaks at their house, being whoever is over it. Politics are crooked. Heck I bet that the lines were never even pressurized for leaks when they were installed. My 10 year old knows how to do that. We need an office open several days not 4 hours, it's probably in the budget but is kicked back to commisioners so they don't open their mouth about it. Am I the only 1 that feels this way?

Ok..so I got up at 6am this morning with no water, which means no coffee, no shower, can't water the animals or even brush my teeth. Why am I paying $60 a month (ridiculous) for water when I don't even have any 1/2 of the month?? When will this stop?? I called at 10:30 to see why water hadn't been turned back on...oh we can't find the leak. And here it is almost 3pm and still no water...get your head outta your ass and fix it right this time!!!!!

Shouldn't have to dig a well. If I am paying $50-$60 a month for water...I expect to have water when I wake up. Simple as that!

High water bills and poor service. Just compare what your neighboring utilities pay per month. At least $20 less and water at least 29 days per month. Give me a break. We need to start calling the county mayor-he appoints the utility board.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Aquarius

You will not be satisfied in your work place, but give it some time and things will fall into place. Those in the construction business should get some good news. Aquarian homebodies will find things rather hectic and may develop a headache by the end of the day, so you should avoid negative thinking as much as possible.
