While I'm glad to see the National Trust for Historic Preservation listed Philadelphia's Boyd Theatre this year in terms of America's most endangered historic sites, since the passing of founder James Biddle in 2005 it's just down to a small group now, and growing smaller every day, SADLY! Add to this that the recognition of the Boyd in this manner by that fast shrinking national organization was very late in coming. So whether it still can be saved is now anybody's guess. It's been shuttered so long that few of today have any kind of special rapport with it. Meaning that to bring it back now might be a bit like reviving the Frozen Man. But, if the Boyd can somehow be brought back, great! If not, who will even notice? And if it IS brought back, who will even notice? A sad, but truthful, commentary on the soul-less age we're living in now. A what?-"less" age you ask?
