Is it still standing? I used to hang out there as a child. My mother worked there and we lived in the big house (Victorian) on that steep hill coming down 528. My boyfriend and I were in a car wreck at the corners of 528 & Rt. 6. This would have been during the late 60's through the 70's. I went to Montville Elementary. Any ghosts from my past?

Yes the Montville corner store is still there and probably hasn't changed a bit except for the owners. I know the Victorian house that you are talking about, it was pink for a while. Nice farm there. Were you and your parents in the thoroughbred business? |

I can't thank you enough for getting in touch with me. In answer to your question we didn't have anything of the sort. Just the old barn and we'd put the ponies out in the woods. It was so long ago Mr. Stocker used to have his milk truck parked there across the street. That house was haunted, you know. Especially when you're nine. The house was never pink when my sister had it. Just the white with black shutters. That house haunts my dreams.... The barn, too. Thank you again for answering me. I truly appreciate it. |

It's nice to know that the store is still there. I know the house that you lived in, when did you move away? I left in 1978.

I lived in Montville until I was almost 16, which was in 1978, I've been there to drive around a few times, but alot of people I knew had moved away, no idea where though. Nice to know that people think of little ole Montville though....my name is Darlene by the way.

I shan't say who I am considering where I live and my moniker. |

Lol, I can understand that. Are you anywhere around my age or tell me other people you know from there?

I knew the Watkins, the Balogs, (sic), Heils. Dobbs, Crockers, Skinners, Metz, Dunbars, Bergers, Chenowiths, Mills, Pages, Adams, Healds. At the moment that's all the families I can think of.
