1 It is our government's job to protect the law abiding citizens of the U.S. against people that chose to break the law. This lady knowingly married and had kids with someone that is in this country illegally and now is upset? Does she not understand the concept of breaking the law? I'm upset that people like her contribute to the problem of illegal immigration rather than doing their part to fix it. I agree with rdw, you can go too! |

1 As I always tell my clients when faced with a tough decision: the heart may be telling you one thing but you cannot ignore your brain. Hope this analogy makes sense. Kid needs money for school. He is a good kids, superb grades but frustrated he cannot qualify for financial aid because he has a job but his job does not pay enough for college. So he gets involved in an illegal activity. He uses the money to pay for college. He gets arrested. Should he face the music? Yes. He had a need (paying for college), he never took part in what he was doing as a user/clieint, he just "managed his own business." The money was only used for college. When these people marry someone not here legally or would have to become illegal in order to remain here, it is a calculated risk that they may have to pay that piper. I am sick of the "I am a victim!" No one forced them to enter into these relationships. A friend of mine spent about a year and a half separated from his wife so he could bring her here LEGALLY. |

1 While I can have empathy for these people, that doesn't make their actions any less illegal. If you want to be here, do it the right way. And deporting all 850,000 illegals won't solve all my problems but it sure would go a long was towards solving many of the state of Florida's problems. |

1 Marrying and having children does not change the fact that they broke and continue to break the law. That makes them criminals. |

1 Same goes for those who knowingly violate the terms of their visa. They knew they would be deported and they did it anyway. They have no respect for the law. If they violate Immigration laws, they will violate any laws. Having children if you are in the USA illegally is not going to keep you here. A lot of illegal aliens use anchor babies to try to stay here, or to hold up in front of Immigration authorities to try to evade deportation. How disgusting is that! People who make kids to use in that way are disgusting. They should have used birth control if they are here illegally. A lot of illegal aliens leave spouses and children behind in their own countries before they come here. Then they come here illegally and make another family, thinking it will protect them from deportation. They have no "family values". That is not moral, not ethical, not honest, not decent. It's so easy - if you don't want to be deported don't come into the USA illegally, and don't overstay a visa. If you are deported - just leave - you got caught red handed, you knew it was coming, you broke the law. Do the right thing, immigrate legally or stay out. If you are here illegally, leave before you get deported. If you leave now, you can apply to immigrate legally once you are back in your own country. If you get deported you will not be able to immigrate legally so easy, because you will have a record in the USA, and will fail the criminal background check. The US does not allow criminals to legally immigrate here. |

1 Locally (central PA) we had a married couple, she American, he Greek who own a restaurant in a small town. He went through the paperwork drill, paid someone (not a government official) to handle the piles of paperwork, reportedly believed that the red tape was going slowly but going well, until the day they knocked on his door, took him to a local prison for a couple of months prior to shipping him back to Greece where he remains some 6 years later. So, for those who think the US is out looking for hispanics only to boot out of the country, this simply is NOT so.... the key word is ILLEGAL. I believe anyone who is here illegally should be forced to leave and I feel no pity for them regardless of whether they have a wife/husband or children. They KNEW what their status was even if others did not. The citizens of the US should not have to make life easy for them when they are having it tough enough themselves. Central PA has been going to various businesses and arresting large groups (usually of men) at one time and deporting them. Fypon was one such company that employed illegals, however, there are many including the numerous orchards in Adams County, PA and some of the 'forests' where hundreds of thousands of Christmas trees are grown (requiring laborers who trim them into those perfect shapes we all love). |

1 I would rather see a story on families being torn apart becasue dad had to go to prison for robbing banks and the problems it caused for them. Amounts to the same thing. Chances are, if he is clean, he can come back legally. But as most have said, go with him. Let me break it down for the bleeding hearts. He works in Orlando and got married. His job has now been moved to Spokane. Does she complain or just move with him. Out of all the illegals, how long did it take the Sentinel to go find this rare story. Hey, I wonder why they do not go out to where a bunch of illegals live and investigate the many crimes they commit while here. How about the fact that 1/3 of CA prison populace are illegals and the gang problems. Does this represent most of the illegals here, NO. But it is bigger thah this ladies problem. Yes, I know. The Sentinel does not support enforcing the law. |
