They intentionally missed the deadline to prove to VT that they will not allow this backwards state to push them around. You after all state of VT will suffer if VY doesn't continue operating, not Entergy.

I'll be happy to start the suffering you speak of in 2012. Entergy doesn't have to be pushed around by its Vermont customers; they can just get the hel out. And your husband had better dust off his resume, he's going to need it. |

Hydro Quebec has yet to agree to a power contract as well. With the VT legislature recent price guarentee for alternatives, perhaps these major sources for power are waiting to see just how much Vermont may be willing to pay for power? Why wouln't Hydro Quebec and Vermont Yankee try to get as much money for thier product as the market will support? Realistically all they need to do is come in under grid prices as alternatives are not base load. It would be a very black mark on Vermont's green image if VT decide to buy their base load from the coal fed grid!

All this is moot.With the most incompetent legislature in Vermont history, led by left-liberal wingnuts like Shumlin,these morons will NEVER allow this plant to operate past 2012, no matter what the facts are and how much sense it makes for Vermonters.
I would also add how mean spirited it is to tell someone to "dust off their husbands resume'.... What an imbecilic jerk! |
