Ex-felon(s)? I'm sorry but the convictions is a life-long label. Would the ACLU attempt to set aside a conviction of a two-time level three child molester?

Felons shouldn't be allowed to vote.

If it were up the aclu Scum.. every criminal behind bars.. every murderer, child molester, "Illegal", even Terrorists would have the "right" to vote.. Plus, they would not even be in a prison! It is the low-life Predators among us which the aclu primarily aids.. as they comb the country looking for traditional-American-religious values to target & trash.. mostly at taxpayers expense.

I'm sorry. If we take away felons voting rights that's one more reason for them not to integrate into society. They served their time let them try to rebuild. If not then that's another reason to not try and commit more crime.

You have got to remember that the ACLU lawyers get paid by the US government (thats you and me) for bringing these cases to court, They are becoming extremely wealth suing the goverment for every imagined ill that their fertile minds can come up with. This is not pro bono work that these degenerates are engaging in , this is for pure profit. And we are paying the bills.

Many of us recognize that the direction our country takes ought not be influenced by criminals, but by the same token, democrats want them to vote.

And, yeah, lots of ex-cons feel the inability to vote is what is really keeping them from reforming and leading productive lives.

8 months for receiving stolen property was her last conviction.

Most likely she has a criminal record 3 feet long with numerous felony convictions.

90% of felons never learn their lesson. They ALWAYS return to jail and/or prison.

These people serve no purpose in society. They should be deported to an island consisting of x-cons.

I saw the big guy from the ACLU on tv tonight complaining about two body scans at Miami Int'l Airport. Granted, it's a nude pic, but it is not so sexy, it's in computer screen colors and the body images they produce cannot exite. One steps onto a screened platform after they wave the metal detector around you. You won't be able to sneak on any siris gas hidden in a body before boarding a jet. It's just more security. I'm telling you, the ACLU imagines, like alot of lefties do, there's a white nazi hiding around every corner. The guy I saw on tv looked like you friendly neiborhood rabbi.

With more and more minor victimless crimes being labeled at felonies, the amount of people who will be left to vote will be a selected group. It sure can be a way to selectively get certain people elected. And you want change? Good luck.

Did her father teach her that she should not be in possession of stolen goods? What kind of a mother tries to lessen her bad behavior by touting her children’s goodness? Their service doesn't excuse her behavior or entitle her, as a convicted felon, to vote.

What irresponsible journalism on the part of BOB JOHNSON Associated Press Writer. Does he really want us to have sad puppy dog eyes for felons? Why doesn't he tell us more about the crime she committed, who the stolen goods came from and the impact on her victim?

So their own morality is not reason enough? Not going back to jail is not reason enough?

ACLU members should be clubbed like Alaskan Seals.

Maybe you need to start reading about some of the so called felony charges that are being thrown around. Any one of you could be charged with a felony for doing something you thought was a valid response to a personal threat. Get caught up in the court system and hope you can afford at least $50,000+ for a good attorney to show you are not guilty as charged. I agree people in prison or even on parole should not vote.

But once they are a contributing citizen again, their voting rights should be restored. Why should they want to live in this country if they have no rights? Their sentence should not be a lifelong curb on rights. Leave the country you say? Not with a felony you don't. America has taken care of that too. They know many countries won't accept a felon so have guaranteed keeping them in the US. With the courts handing down longer felony records and longer parole terms, most people are tied up with the legal system for at least 10-25 years anyway. What a waste. For serious criminals certainly warranted, but for some of the nonsense charges a real show of stupidity.
