6 years in prison is not nearly enough for this jerk!!! 2nd DWI on top of a rape charge, COME ON!!! Obviously he's a repeat offender, 2 separate accounts of domestic violence and now rape, I really don't see where he's getting any better or wanting to get straight!! No, 6 years is NOT enough!!!!

The victim's father (the other drunkard who passed out) should also be charged with endangerment of children or family member by inviting a known drunkard into the family home for drinking spree. How stupid to pass-out in the presence of a known predator in his own house.

You have a 17 yr old in the house and you bring a stranger into your home to drink (stuuupid). Whats wrong with the bar, the father must not protect his daughter to bring a stranger around his kids whether the kids are male or female!!!!! He needs to be charged also.

so far everyone here is right on the button, great comments. no insult, realy, honest! great remarks, it's refreshing to see, and your all right to boot! We need to grate [reem] the father, question the judges common sense, or change the laws.If it's the judge who lets him off easy, fire the puke, re-sentence the perv! Make all who do sexual crimes,[asking a pro to pay, is not a sex crime] to be put in the GENERAL population in prision, to die! That's fair for me, but probaly not for a responable father or mother who had worst done to there family, this I understand completly.

I agree with the last post. Great Comments. Do you think after he learns what 2+2 =s he can remember the phrase "If its predictable...its preventable" pretty simple theory. Also lets not forget the victim here. I hope she receives the help she needs after this life altering event that was not her fault.

Lets hope both victims get the help they need. I imagin this is a father looking for a reason "why us" trust is easy when you think you know someone. When it's broke like this, I would blame myself for her pain, and that will drive a father off his rocker, at a time she needs him most. A truely disheartening story. Hope all works out in time.

the dad just kicked him out? If that was my dad he probably would have kicked @$$ then called the cops.. her dad must have known the guy to invite him over for drinks or do people actually invite unknown fools into thier homes? idk about some people these days..I agree on 6 years is NOT enough!! I feel for that girl being raped is no joke and puts a long term affect on females! She may need counseling too!!!

It's already been said "I would have killed the guy" or "I would be in jail for murder",as it reads, a single dad and daughter. I understand not wanting to be in jail,[just to get off] when she needs him the most. You would be amazed what a picture of what you can LOSE, if you do this, can keep you from doing so.If it were me, and my family saw me unlock that part of me, they would be scared of ME for the rest of there lives. I know how many different body parts can come off in a heartbeat, right in front of your kids? Man, that's how I lost my wife of 21 years. I unlocked that part,[not intentionaly] and let her see, and gone was her next move. It's a hard place to be put in! Trust me, she needs him NOW, not in 1 year when he walks. They both need some help, no doubt.I do understand how hard it can be to keep the locks on, when your blood boils, good man as it reads, his only thought was her safty from everyone, including himself. At least they ARE together and that counts for a lot.

Most, even I agree, take a gun to him or worst. Would you want to be there for your daughter, when she needs you,you can't do that from jail, then kill the SOB when they relses him? At which point they might not even look for the person who killed a sexual offender. I am not defending this man, I do not know him, but maybe being there for her after her ordeal, instead of a foster family, and a picture of her ie:what do I Lose, in his head, and save the killing for later, IF he lives through his measly 6 years or less, till he is out, then pay him a visit. I want to think her well being in whole was his motivation, of letting him walk, then call police, that is a lot of self control, if getting to him later was his reason, I say he he is a good father to put her, at the very very top of why not- list. After they can start to deal with this, I hope she can understand his actions, before he finishes the job, when he does she will be around 23+-.Then she can say what he realy NEEDS to hear, "Thank you Daddy, now I don't have to live in fear of this guy any more" " I love you""now I understand".By Then she will be on her own, and life with no parol, cause you did, and they looked, and you got caught, would be worth every min.She is safe!

WOW what a way to wake up. That man should have watched the movie called "Once Were Warriors" and thought twice about going into her bedroom. Dont know what the world is coming to but I do hope the young lady is ok and gets some counseling for the attack. That would be great on behalf of the father. Dont you think so DAD???!!!!

Today's New Moon gives you a chance to improve your relationships, but beware of people who are deceiving you. Someone you trust may have proverbial feet of clay, so try not to be too disappointed.
