Whatever happened, it had to be self-defense at the minimum? There should've been nothing more then a parole violation or gun charge.

YOU PEOPLE...don't even have a clue. When I lived in that area, I can honestly say, I never felt safer walking down the street. That commnity is full of families that have lived there since all that was around was grapevines. Everyone knows each other and looks out for one another. If your kids wonder out of the yard...everyone knows who they belong to and the phones will be off the hook to get them home!! Can you say that about YOUR neighbors? The only ones running aound with guns are the stupid people that go in looking for trouble and I agree, self defense... not only for himself but all the neighbors and families who do live there peacefully until interrupted. Paul is not the monster they are making him out to be and only God can judge him for what he did or DIDN"T do. Who are you to judge.Are you God? How do YOU know they even got the right man? They couldn't even see him in the video. I'm sure all of your friends and family are perfect right???

Now he really is in a gang not a made up one that the riverside county police make up when it is a group of white boys.

He was someone the police and courts used to set an example not caring weather or not he was innocent! I belive he was.

Wheres the justice for both these families. A young man whom went looking for trouble, killed. Too young to see the consequences of his actions. I thought him being the son of a lieutenant would know better! And another kid whom the courts and cops use as an excuse to forfill a longtime vendetta agianst. Paul was unfairlly prosecuted by the courts. Called a violant person, is he? Wheres his face on the video, wheres the prints on the gun, was there even a gun, where's the eye witness who seen him, was there really gun powder on him....guilty from the start, never given a chance. My sincere regards to both families. Theres no winners in this war...at the end of the day both parents lose a son. Only god knows what truly happened...or is he the only one who knew what happened that day?

you guys have no idea what you are talking about. its funny to see you guys making such comments like you know the situation, when all you know is what you read from a short news article. i happen to know the area really well and the people involved in this case. this particular part of rancho is not as nice as the rest and there are many gang related activities that go on. granted if you are from that area the people there are more than willing to protect and take care of one another. however the group of guys that rolled by there that night were out to settle a fight from earlier... yes there were looking for trouble, but they were not first to open fire. it was not self-defense, the "shooter" crept out of the shadows... he did not have to come out if he didn't want to. He was first to open fire. I am not saying it is who they say it is, because it does say that the video was unclear,... however you guys need to know what you are talking about before making comments like you know what's going on. the article paints a picture of a son of a police officer, brutally murdered by a evil gang member. the truth of the matter is both were in the wrong and both were out to fight. one way or another someone was bound to get hurt or even killed. either way you look at it everyone is a victim of gang violence.

Sadly...Paul is going down for the whole situation. I do give my regards to both families. As it was said earlier, both families are mourning a loss. Paul, you are in my prayers and I have no doubt that the neighborhood will come together to make sure you are taken care of.

We have a idea and gangs don't make life any better for them or others.It seems at times they only think for themselves with the hand signs,drive bys,it's the color you wear,you can't have a regular SOX hat,sign language the love sign for the gangs thinks it belongs to them.No I may not understand alot of things that the gangs takes that wasn't theirs in the beginning.If they get in jail for hurting,killing,and etc..Yes they deserve jail time!You did the crime do the time.They kill innocent and unborn children and don't blink an eye.Whatever is their part of town they own.Well GOD made EARTH and it's for everyone to share HIS land.

Where was the promise we got your back?Paul was there.Now he needs to do the crime.For someone else did it he's can't go back to jail so Paul has to dor 70 years.Just because someone else won't be man enough to say I did it.Paul could be innocent.I wasn't there and you hear alot of hear say.Paul won't open his mouth and talk to say who did it.Other person is watching Paul go to jail and he is having free tome.If that's true.He isn't much of a person.

I don't know which gangs you know that are killingkids and unborn children but that little and old neighborhood doesn't have any more violent crime going on in it that any other, should I say... higher class neighborhoods around. There may be a drug problem but hey, that's in every neighborhood nowadays. yes i agree with you rancho court system will do any thing to convict anyone and the DA will do anything to get there points so one day they could traded them in god hate ugle people that have no heart it sad when something happen to there family and they cry like baby
